The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has teamed up once again with Sotheby’s—those well-heeled wranglers of the world’s most coveted canvases—to offer a one-off, one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime experience that sounds as though it were dreamt up by a Mediterranean muse on a particularly inspired day.
It’s called “Masterpieces & the Mediterranean,” and it’s not merely a cruise. It’s a floating festival of fine art, haute cuisine and superyacht-level pampering. The new jewel in the Ritz-Carlton crown, Luminara, will play host to this lavish affair from 17 to 24 October 2025, charting a course from Rome to Barcelona with stopovers in Livorno, Portofino, Saint-Tropez and Mallorca.

This voyage, which will be auctioned off to the highest bidder via Sotheby’s Sealed platform between 20 and 30 June 2025, is designed not just to impress, but to transport. Spiritually, culturally, and yes—thanks to a wine-paired tasting menu by Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi—gastronomically.
The lucky bidder and a guest will reside in the Owner’s Suite, which is more of a boutique mansion than a cabin. Picture sprawling indoor-outdoor spaces, personal service from a Suite Ambassador (the kind who knows your shoe size and preferred aperitif), and spa treatments curated with high-end products from ESPA, 111SKIN and Pisterzi.
From the moment they step into the chauffeured car in Florence to their Saint-Tropez send-off, it’s seamless, silver-spooned serenity. And then, of course, there’s the art.

- Dine Provençal-style at the legendary La Colombe d’Or in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, where the likes of Matisse, Calder and Picasso once paid with paintings.

Gaby Aiguesvives, CMO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, describes the voyage as an embodiment of their shared mission with Sotheby’s: “We’re curating travel the same way great museums curate exhibitions—with purpose, rarity and connection.”
And George Hammer, Marriott’s Global Head of Luxury Marketing, pulls no punches: “This isn’t indulgence for indulgence’s sake. This is storytelling you live through. Access you feel in your bones.”
And storytelling, it seems, is the tie that binds. Since launching their partnership in 2024, The Luxury Group and Sotheby’s have offered four exclusive journeys, each an ode to art, access and aspiration. But Masterpieces & the Mediterranean appears to be the crown jewel.
The cruise also aligns with Sotheby’s marquee art sales in London (18–24 June 2025), where The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will serve as Presenting Partner.
