Cover-More Travel Insurance has once again been recognised for outstanding commitment to customer protection and care, securing two major honours in the 2025 WeMoney Travel Awards.
Notably, the company has retained the Travel Insurer of the Year title for the second year running, underscoring strong, ongoing leadership in the Australian travel insurance sector.
Regarded as a benchmark of excellence in the industry, the annual awards showcase the travel industry’s best products, providers and innovators.
Cover-More Travel Insurance was also awarded Best for Quality (Travel Insurance) for the second year in a row and was a finalist in several categories, including Mobile App of the Year, International Travel Insurance of the Year, and Outstanding Claims Experience – Travel Insurance.
Todd Nelson, Chief Sales Officer of Cover-More Australia said the accolades reflected the company’s ongoing focus on product innovation, technology and customer experience.
“Cover-More continues to lead a significant transformation of customer experience in the travel insurance industry, responding to shifting customer expectations and travel trends,” he said.
“In August 2024, we introduced a first-of-its-kind cancellation option to our travel insurance that provides previously unavailable protection for travellers when it comes to cancelling planned international or domestic travel.
“Travellers can add Cancellation Plus Cover to their standard cancellation cover, in the same way they add extra cover for motorcycle riding, skiing and snow sports, or multi-night ocean or sea cruises.”
Mr Nelson said the company’s award-winning free Cover-More app, available to Australian and New Zealand travellers, continued to raise the bar for customer support, both in anticipating needs and responding in real time.
“Cover-More is the only travel insurance provider in Australia offering corporate-level assistance to leisure travellers via the app including real-time travel alerts based on geo-location and ‘click-to-call’ immediate assistance,” he said.
“It is directly connected to our global command centres, enabling real-time monitoring of emerging situations. This means we can respond proactively and provide timely assistance to travellers wherever they are. This is a major step forward in travel risk support for Australian and Kiwi leisure travellers.”
As part of Zurich Cover-More, one of the world’s leading travel insurance and assistance providers, the company operates sophisticated command centres in Australia, UK, North America and Argentina, which means travellers benefit from round-the-clock medical and security assistance.
Looking ahead Mr Nelson said the company would continue to invest in global assistance operations and advance the next generation of travel protection.
“Our company ethos is to put the customer at the heart of everything we do and to be there at every step of their journey. These awards are a welcome recognition of that commitment,” he said.
“We’re focussed on expanding our responsive technologies, strengthening our global support network and delivering even more flexible cover options that reflect how people travel today, and how they’ll travel tomorrow. “
