ATIA - LogoThe Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) is dusting off its boots and hitting the bitumen with BB On The Road. This rousing new initiative brings its flagship travel summit series, Beyond Borders, to regional frontlines — starting with Adelaide on 28 July and Perth on 30 July.

Hot on the heels of last year’s smashing Beyond Borders Travel Summit and amid growing national appetite for on-the-ground engagement, the ATIA is steering its message of unity, insight and industry evolution across state lines — with the same boldness that’s made NTIA nights a calendar fixture.

These new stopsCrowne Plaza Adelaide and Novotel Perth Langley, respectively—promise a caravan of conversation: sector-shaping panels, national market overviews, and much-needed mingling. Doors swing open at 5 pm for a 6 pm start. Expect frank talk, future forecasting, and a refreshing lack of corporate fluff.

“Taking Beyond Borders on the road is an exciting next step,” said Richard Taylor, ATIA’s Director of Membership and Industry Affairs.
“We’ve seen just how powerful these conversations can be, and now we’re bringing that energy directly to members and industry leaders in South Australia and Western Australia.”

He’s not wrong. The national rollout follows NTIA celebration stops in Melbourne (2023), Sydney (2024) and soon Brisbane (2025) — where ATIA’s crown jewel, the National Travel Industry Awards, returns on Saturday 18 October at The Star Brisbane. But first, all eyes will be on Friday 17 October’s Beyond Borders Travel Summit and NTIA Finalist Celebration, the ultimate prelude to travel’s night of nights.

On the Agenda: No-Nonsense Networking and National Insight

BB On The Road isn’t just a feel-good field trip. It’s a chance to unpack the issues that matter — from aviation pressures and airport performance to the ever-moving frontier of border policy.

Attendees can expect:

  • The latest ATIA policy and advocacy updates, including post-election positioning;

  • A national market snapshot, giving insight into where the industry stands;

  • A curated expert panel tackling hot-button issues like airline competition, airport logistics, and Border Force efficiency;

  • Structured networking opportunities are designed to foster genuine industry connections.

  • A local spotlight celebrating NTIA finalists and winners from each state.

“This is all about creating more opportunities for connection, insight, and national engagement,” Taylor added.
“With NTIA in Brisbane this year following stops in Melbourne and Sydney, BB On The Road continues that nationwide momentum.”

Just the Beginning — With More to Come

What started as a one-off summit has now blossomed into a movement, with ATIA reaffirming its commitment to regional inclusion, industry elevation, and transparency in a sector that’s too often buried in buzzwords and boardrooms.

“We’re proud to be delivering meaningful industry events in more locations — and these are just the beginning,” said Taylor.

That sense of continuity — from Melbourne’s spirited 2023 sessions to the sweeping Brisbane finale in October — speaks to a broader truth: that the travel industry thrives not on isolation, but on collaboration, community, and face-to-face momentum.

Get Involved

Tickets for both events are now available via atia.travel/BBOTR — and if previous summits indicate, they’ll be snapped up quicker than an international fare sale.

This is more than a networking night for those in South Australia and Western Australia. It’s your front-row seat to the future of Australian travel.
