The Peninsula Bangkok, in collaboration with River City Bangkok, is delighted to announce the launch of New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran, an art exhibition featuring works by seventeen contemporary Thai artists. The exhibition will be open to the public from 1 April to 30 June 2025 on the second floor of the hotel.
Following the success of last year’s Art in Resonance programme, which featured Sanctuary Within by Jarupatcha Achavasmit, New Beginnings marks the first major art exhibition of 2025. This reinforces The Peninsula Bangkok’s commitment to support Thai artist and showcasing innovative artistic expressions that celebrate Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
In celebration of Songkran Festival, Thailand’s traditional New Year, which symbolises new beginnings and the welcoming of positive energy, New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran reflects the theme of renewal. The exhibition showcases the artists’ diverse interpretations of ‘new beginnings’ through innovative use of textures, colours, and materials, offering fresh perspectives on transformation and change. The artworks not only reflect moments from the past and present but also offer new viewpoints on the idea of transformation.

New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran is a free public exhibition, welcoming all visitors to experience the artwork in person at The Peninsula Bangkok. To further enrich the Songkran celebrations, The Peninsula Bangkok is pleased to present a special art workshop led by Mr. Supoj Kunanukun, one of the participating artists.
Mr. Supoj is renowned for his technique of creating vibrant pigments from natural earth materials collected from various locations. Mr. Supoj will lead the workshop, allowing participants to create their own artworks using his distinctive materials. The workshop will be held from 13 to 15 April 2025, with limited spaces available. Sessions will take place at Thiptara, The Peninsula Bangkok, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
