Experience Sydney’s most innovative NYE yet.Sydney is set to welcome 2025 with a groundbreaking New Year’s Eve celebration that promises to outshine all previous displays. With unprecedented fireworks, cutting-edge pyrotechnic technology, and expanded firing positions, the stage is set for a night of breathtaking grandeur.

For the first time in Australian history, four aerial pyrotechnic platforms will take centre stage during the Calling Country and midnight displays. Hovering gracefully above the water between the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, these platforms will dazzle the crowds with over 600 innovative pyrotechnic effects, forming mesmerizing patterns and shapes in the night sky.

Unmatched Innovation and Scale

This year’s event marks a historic expansion in firing locations on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The total number of firing positions has increased to 264, up from 184 in 2023. For the first time, 80 positions have been added to the bridge’s western side, ensuring an even broader audience can enjoy the visual feast.

A highlight of the show will be the introduction of drop comet fireworks, which use state-of-the-art technology to form intricate shapes like sharks, fish, and even the word “Sydney”. These designs will cascade from the bridge in a dazzling waterfall effect, adding a new dimension to the spectacular display.

Decades of Expertise, Endless Creativity

At the heart of this monumental event is Foti International Fireworks, a family business whose legacy of pyrotechnic artistry dates back to 1793. Director Fortunato Foti and his team have devoted over 4,500 hours to creating this year’s spectacle, blending tradition with groundbreaking innovation.

“We’re always looking to evolve our displays and make each year more extraordinary,” said Foti. “This year, we’re thrilled to introduce aerial platforms—a first in Australian fireworks history. With more firing positions and extended display areas, spectators across the harbour will enjoy an unparalleled experience.”

The sheer scale of the operation is staggering. More than 9 tonnes of fireworks will be launched from 16 strategic locations, all interconnected by 80 kilometres of wiring and cables. The display will be synchronized using 16 computers and 32 firing panels, ensuring a flawless performance.
