The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is pleased to unveil the newly redesigned Lobby Lounge, bringing heritage and timeless luxury to life in the transformed space. The 45th floor venue roots its design elements in traditional Japanese houses, while the inspired culinary offerings blend classic flavors with a modern twist.
The revamped Lobby Lounge draws inspiration from traditional Japanese craftsmanship. From the furniture, to the wall décor, to the lighting, the Lobby Lounge’s design elements highlight the hotel’s ever-present attention to detail. Intricate woodworking and use of washi paper motifs are among these unique details.
The Lobby Lounge now offers refined lounge seating for up to 72 guests. The furniture’s spatial layout caters to the diverse occasions hosted and ensures a perfect environment for chic celebrations, occasional entertainment, or signature Afternoon Tea – a revered part of The Ritz-Carlton experience. The newly reimagined Afternoon Tea is served deconstructed, beautifully presented on Arita porcelain, the artisanal chinaware created especially for The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. Guests can savor finger sandwiches, house-made scones, and seasonal delicacies, some sweets delivered on a trolley. The meticulously crafted savory dishes are adorned with Japanese flowers and sprouts to capture Japan’s seasons in every bite. For dessert, guests can enjoy sweets comprised of specialty chocolates, fruits, and teas, hand-selected by the hotel’s talented pastry chef. In the evenings, a trolley travels through The Lobby Lounge offering original cocktails with Japanese gin.
The Lobby Lounge has launched an array of artisanal beverages including a carefully curated selection of Japanese gins, sakes, and whiskies. The expert bartenders pair these beverages with hand-selected ingredients to enhance the flavors. House-made bitters, limited-batch spirits, and liqueurs merge to produce the signature cocktails presented in special Japanese glassware, ensuring a culturally opulent experience.
The newly enhanced Lobby Lounge offers five reimagined menus, notably the Japanese Craftsmanship Collection Menu and the Grand Menu. The Japanese Craftsmanship Collection Menu offers unique alcoholic and zero-proof cocktails and spirits. Most remarkably on this menu, the famous ‘Diamonds Are Forever Martini’ is garnished with a one-carat diamond to keep. The Grand Menu roots its flavors in domestically grown fruits and vegetables from local farmers and seasonal fish caught by local fishermen. Within the Grand Menu, Chef Nakano’s Collection Menu (Chef’s Seasonal Market) transforms every two months, inspired by the fresh tastes of the environment, including peach in the summer. From rich delicacies like Creamy Black Truffle Spaghetti and The Ritz-Carlton Wagyu Hamburger to the distinctive ‘Tastes of Japan’ offering, the Grand Menu encompasses the elegance of the hotel. A special found only at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is Chef Kei Kobayashi’s Truffles Croque-Monsieur, served with a delicious side of rosemary fries and tender green leaves.
The Lobby Lounge is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Afternoon Tea is served from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
