The “Creating a better future together – Melco’s special UGAMM-edition Heart-of-House SME Roadshow” organized by Melco Resorts & Entertainment and the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM) is being hosted at City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau on July 15-18. An opening ceremony was held today at Studio City. Co-organized by the community services digital platform “Enjoytown Macau”, the event aimed to provide Melco colleagues with high-quality local products and to promote Macau’s local merchants and economic prosperity. The “Enjoytown Macau” platform offered MOP60 in consumption coupons for all consumers participating in the event.
Mr. Ho Ion Sang, UGAMM Vice President, Mr. Chan Ka Leong, UGAMM Director-General and Ms. Veron Mok, Vice President of Human Resources – Studio City, attended the event’s opening ceremony.
Mr. Chan Ka Leong, UGAMM Director-General, said in his speech that the cooperation between UGAMM and Melco not only reflects the organizations’ efforts to support Macau’s SMEs, but also demonstrates a deeper connection with the community. He emphasized, “‘Creating a better future together’ is our common goal. It is hoped that through this event, Melco colleagues will feel the enthusiasm and care of the community and enjoy quality products and services.”
Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Melco Chairman & CEO said, “Melco has long been committed to the community’s sustainable development. This important collaboration with UGAMM showcases Melco’s support for Macau’s local SMEs. We hope that through this event, our employees can experience the unique charm of local merchants’ products and services and jointly contribute to Macau’s economic prosperity.”
The “Enjoytown Macau” platform curated 40 quality merchants to participate in this event, covering a variety of categories including foods and beverages, daily necessities, and electrical appliances to provide Melco employees with a wealth of shopping options. The selected merchants well represented local enterprises and offered products embodying the Macanese culture and spirit.
Melco colleagues responded enthusiastically and the atmosphere was lively. Many colleagues said that such activities allow them to enjoy shopping after work, while also enabling them to play a role in supporting the local economy and culture.
The event co-organizer “Enjoytown Macau” serves Macau businesses and residents through community charity services and has formed connections with many large enterprises and social organizations to promote community charity projects such as caring for elderlies living alone. The successful hosting of this event further deepened the cooperative relationship between Melco and UGAMM. In the future, both parties will continue to work together to jointly contribute to the prosperity and development of the Macau community.
