A first in Hong Kong - DOLL FACTORYMONDRIAN HONG KONG is bursting with PRIDE this June 2024, starting a series of events to support the community, providing a safe and inclusive space and welcoming our LGBTQ+ friends.

A first in Hong Kong – DOLL FACTORY

On June 22, 8pm-2am, MONDRIAN HONG KONG’s award winning Bar Avoca transforms into the Doll Factory: A PRIDE Month Party and fundraising event for Trans Healthcare in Hong Kong.

A truly unique event in this city with an all-star lineup of 6 international DJs here to present genre-bending pioneering tunes.  

The superb line-up of cutting-edge Trans and gender non-conforming DJ talent includes  Metamoksha (They/Them) Singapore, baby ikea (they/he) Phillipines, Barbara Pleaser (dia,they,he) Indonesia, Teya Logos (she/they) Phillipines, dziffi (they/them) Denmark and DIGNOS (she/her) Phillipines.

Throughout June, every Friday and Saturday from 8:30pm to midnight, Avoca at MONDRIAN HONG KONG will furthermore feature a colourful list of Queer DJs and offer specially created Pride cocktails.

ATTITUDE and DIVA are two cocktail creations inspired by pioneering magazines, who gave the community a voice and celebrate their 30th anniversary this year!

The first issue of gay men’s magazine Attitude hit the shelves in this month in 1994. Since then, the magazine has featured a host of famous faces on its cover, including Boy George, Madonna, Tony Blair and even Prince William – the first British royal to front a gay publication

Diva, the world’s leading magazine for queer women and non-binary people, published its first     edition in 1994 and has featured cover stars including actors Ellen DeGeneres, Samira Wiley and       Sarah Paulson.

Each cocktail’s price includes a HK$30 donation to support Grey and Pride, the first and only non-profit organisation in Hong Kong looking after the well-being of older members of the LGBTQ community.

As a Diamond Sponsors of the PRIDE Month event 2024 organised by Rainbow of Hong Kong, Les Corner Empowerment Association, Made in Gender and Hong Kong PRIDE Parade, the Mondrian team will join a panel discussion on June 15 about “Business Diversity and Inclusion: Practices and Challenges” that will provide an in-depth exchange and opportunity to share experiences regarding challenges with DEI Practices in business.

MONDRIAN HONG KONG also supports Quarks, a pioneering organisation led by and connecting transgender youth, as a host for workshops to encourage a dialogue, sharing experiences and explore cultural competence in healthcare settings to better serve diverse communities.
