Summertime in Sri Lanka – from April to September – is the ideal season to explore the magical island. Plus, Resplendent Ceylon is offering 15% off accommodation for stays up until the 31st of October 2024.
During the summer, when staying at a Resplendent Ceylon property, travellers can expect misty mornings in the Central Highlands surrounded by the emerald green tea fields, golden sunsets and the allure of the Indian Ocean lapping at their feet in the South, and diverse habitats, ecology and scenery across the country’s many national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.
Cocooned by a lakeside bungalow at Resplendent’s Ceylon Tea Trails in the Central Highlands, guests are invited to experience some of the region’s most popular summer activities including bird watching, fishing on the Castlereagh Lake with handmade rods, and painting the picturesque surrounds in watercolour or acrylic.
At Resplendent’s Wild Coast Tented Lodge, located adjacent to Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife park, Yala National Park, guests can immerse in the best of both jungle and beach environments. Here, on game drives during summer, common sightings include Sri Lankan leopards, elephants and exotic birds. From sunset at the hotel, guests can enjoy drinks and dinner by firelight against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean and sandy dunes.
Resplendent Ceylon’s cliff-top resort, Cape Welligama will be undergoing renovations during the summer and will reopen to guests in late November 2024 (date TBC).
