The newest addition to the company’s ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht fleet will introduce a new era in small ship cruising, when Scenic Eclipse II cruises into Sydney Harbour on 19 April and then visit the port of Newcastle on 22 April, the city where Scenic was founded 38 years ago. The ship will then embark on a voyage of discovery exploring the Australian waters for the first time with a series of luxurious journeys throughout 2024 to early 2026.

Australians can enjoy itineraries that comprise the inaugural Oceania season and will provide a unique opportunity to experience unrivalled ultra-luxury, Discovery Yacht cruising close to home. From the coastline of Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef and stunning islands, to the Northern Territory and Kimberley region, then onto the coast of Western Australia, Scenic Eclipse II will take guests on journeys of-a-lifetime in 6-star ultra-luxury with only 228 guests on board. Those keen to explore further afield can enjoy the wonders of New Zealand, remote East Antarctica and the Ross Sea region.

Scenic Eclipse set a new benchmark in ultra-luxury ocean cruising when it launched in 2019 and its new sister ship Scenic Eclipse II, launched in 2023, has lifted the bar even further. Accommodation is truly the ‘next level’, with 114 luxurious suites – all with balconies – across five decks. They range in size from the 32m2 Verandah Suites to the two-bedroom Owner’s Penthouse at 245m². Service aboard the Discovery Yacht is exceptional, with butlers for every suite and a crew-to-guest ratio of almost one-to-one.

Anthony Laver, Scenic Group’s General Manager Sales and Marketing APAC, said “With its enhanced ultra-luxury spaces, new culinary experiences and next generation submersible, Scenic Eclipse II reflects our commitment to continuous innovation and bringing life-changing experiences to guests.  As an Australian-founded company, we are incredibly proud to mark this significant milestone. The arrival of Scenic Eclipse II in Australian waters represents a new era in ocean cruising for this region, where ultra-luxury meets discovery.”

There are ten unique, all-inclusive dining experiences on board Scenic Eclipse II, ranging from casual to fine dining, as well as eight bars and lounges. Highlights include dining al fresco at the Yacht Club, a fine-dining restaurant Lumiere with its own Champagne bar, a Chef’s Table degustation experience at the ship’s main restaurant Elements, a Night Market Teppanyaki grill at Asian diner Koko’s and a Whiskey Bar with over 130 varieties included for guests.

On Deck 10, indoor-outdoor seating offers guests the ability to enjoy stunning views with a drink in hand, and the ship’s large, oval-shaped Vitality pool (one of two on board) boasts an elegant relaxation space that serves as a perfect venue for sail away deck parties.

Scenic Eclipse II is the only cruise ship with two on-board helicopters, withguests able to experience flight-seeing excursions, heli-fishing in the Kimberley region and many more activities along the Australian coastline – that other ships cannot reach. The next-generation electric submersible^, Scenic Neptune II can transport up to eight guests 100metres below the surface and provides 270-degree panoramic views, offering a whole new way to experience such underwater wonders as the Great Barrier Reef.  Guests can also enjoy included kayaking and stand-up paddle-boarding from the marina deck, whilst the more adventurous can glide through the crystal-waters of the Pacific by Seabob (all of which are included) or relax in the floating hammocks, inflatable trampoline or snorkel.

Scenic’s on board Discovery Team, with up to 15 experts from geologists to anthropologists, ensures that guests enjoy bespoke experiences throughout their journey, from remote beach landings via Zodiac for picnics, to afternoons of snorkelling, swimming or hiking, with guests have access on an all-inclusive basis.

Scenic Eclipse II also has the most expansive wellness facilities at sea for a ship of its size, with a state-of-the-art 550m² Senses Spa#, complete with aromatherapy, an integrated ice fountain, experience showers and a KLAFS custom salt therapy lounge with heated beds. It is the only ship of its kind to have a dedicated yoga and Pilates studio, along with features such as a dedicated infrared ‘ocean view’ infrared sauna with colour light therapy to energise and reinvigorate skin cells.
