Facing the golden sand shores of the Atlantic and having the Atlas Mountains as its backdrop, Fairmont Taghazout Bay is the ultimate oceanside luxury resort of Southern Morocco’s coast. At just a stone’s throw, guests of the resorts are invited to Tazegzout Golf Course, the appointed #6 golf course in Morocco – a unique course overlooking the ocean from 80m above sea level, perfectly designed by specialist Kyle Phillips – to immerse into the golf lifestyle.

This January 2024, Fairmont Taghazout Bay hosted, for the first time, the prestigious Morocco Fairmont Golf Cup, where golf lovers were able to indulge their passion on the world-class golf course. Being a tournament organised by the Fairmont properties in Morocco, the competition continues in the four properties of the Kingdom, offering a true adventure by combining sport, relaxation and nevertheless, the comfort of luxury. Over the two days of competition, guests engaged in two rounds, over Scramble and Front Nine competition styles.

Francis Desjardins, the resort’s General Manager comments: “We are delighted to be part of the Morocco Fairmont Golf Cup for the first time and being able to showcase our golf offering to international travellers. While we are truly lucky for the location, also well known for active holidays, our resort aims to invite more and more golf lovers and immerse them in a carefree luxury offering, with a special package tailored on request, to their finest wishes, either being for a golf escape or a family holiday.”

In the same style as the Fairmont Cup competition format, golf enthusiasts are invited to Fairmont Taghazout Bay to experience their own private golf experience all year round, with scheduled golf courses, depending on their golfer’s ability, which can be curated as such by the golf course specialists.

Thanks to the proximity of The Tazegzout Golf Course location, guests of the resort are only a few minutes away from the course, and transfers are being arranged for ease. The course is laid out on 76 HA of land, and it is a Par 72 course which measures 6730 m. Surrounded by the natural Argan vegetation, the crescendo paves the way to the final 3 holes. Two deep rocky ravines, along the 80m cliff edge, these finishing holes will test every level of golfer, leaving behind endless stories to reminisce on the terrace of the exquisite clubhouse.

The Club House is unique thanks to its clifftop vantage point with a comfortable covered terrace, completed by loungers and overlooking unforgettable panoramic views of the ocean and the 18th hole. This spot makes the perfect place for socializing in between games or for post-golf sundowners and gourmet dinners between old and new friends. The club also offers a Pro Shop featuring the latest equipment from brands such as Titleist, Callaway and Nike.

As sustainability is at the heart of Fairmont Taghazout Bay and Tazegzout Golf Course, the course design takes into account the existing vegetation and the preservation of Argan trees on site; Planting native plant species with low water needs, reusing wastewater for irrigation of golf courses and green spaces around the Club House, adopting sustainable waste management practices including recycling and waste reduction and use electric vehicles and optimizing staff movements on the course.

Fairmont Taghazout Bay is a resort that caters to all ages, thanks to the wide range of offerings and here, designated activities for children and teenagers are available, while parents indulge in the golf lifestyle, or treat themselves in wellness and wellbeing experiences.

Meeting in the Central Garden, kids spend the day making new friends and getting involved in creative workshops involving DIY, plastic arts, or mixology workshops.
Teenagers also have a dedicated space at “The Hangout” where they can connect with each other, creating friendships that will outlast the summer holidays. Their competitive streak is put to the test with several games and championships such as basketball, billiards, ping pong, and darts. For the more creative and expressive groups the team puts together Hip-Hop dance classes, Karaoke sessions, and musical quizzes.

Moreover, the resort features a state-of-the-art spa – Fairmont Spa – a temple of wellbeing spread over 1400m2 and three levels, with eight massage rooms, Moroccan traditional hammams for both singles and couples and signature treatments using locally sourced ingredients such as argan oil. In the spa’s private garden, guests are welcome to relax, swim in the magnesium pool, or engage in yoga and breathwork workshops.
