Viking® has released its 2024-2026 River Brochure featuring 234 pages of destination-focused and culturally immersive itineraries from popular and previously sold-out river journeys exploring Europe, France and Portugal, Egypt, Southeast Asia and the USA.
The brochure presents a diverse selection of northern hemisphere river experiences including Christmas itineraries that express the pure magic of Europe during the festive season. Three new river itineraries are featured in the brochure, including the 11-day Rhine & Main Explorer from Nuremberg to Basel, the 22-day Mississippi River Odyssey from New Orleans to Red Wing and the 15-day The Big Easy to the Gateway City from New Orleans to St. Louis.
The new Rhine & Main Explorer has 45 scheduled departure dates, beginning 13 April 2025 and running through 19 November 2025. Departing Basel, Switzerland, the journey traverses three countries, countless culturally rich cities and historic towns before arriving at its final port of Nuremberg, Germany.
The journey begins by sailing from the Swiss capital of culture, Switzerland, a charming old town steeped in tradition filled with museums, and explores the neighbouring regions of France and southern Germany. Guests will sample the flavours of the Alsace region before calling on Frankfurt, one of Europe’s highest-powered business hubs, before travelling through the fascinating historic regions of Franconia, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. This exciting journey visits turreted castles, towns exuding a rich tapestry of medieval charm and an opportunity to visit a typical winstub eatery and sample the local rauchbier.
“Europe is a popular destination known for its rich history, art, and culture which appeals greatly to curious travellers,” said Michelle Black, ANZ Managing Director, Viking.
“Our 2026 season will open for booking earlier, allowing us to offer more itineraries, both new and old favourites, as well as sailing dates. This will allow agents to book more clients, both returning and new to Viking, onboard our state-of-the-art vessels. There is no better way to explore the heart of Europe than by sailing its historic waterways on an elegant Viking Longship.”
