Ko Samui Surat ThaniIn a remarkable fusion of art and locale, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) embarks on a cinematic journey with HBO, announcing Thailand as the backdrop for the much-anticipated third season of the Emmy-laden series The White Lotus.

The golden shores and vibrant streets of Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui are set to frame the series’ narrative, with production commencing this February.

TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, expressed her exhilaration: “Thailand’s role as the canvas for The White Lotus Season 3 marks a pinnacle in showcasing our enchanting landscapes, cultural tapestry, and the warm spirit of Thai hospitality. This is a sterling opportunity to display our nation’s multifaceted allure, from historical richness to culinary splendor and luxury wellness retreats.”

The collaboration between TAT and HBO intertwines Thailand’s scenic beauty with compelling storytelling. Janet Graham Borba, HBO & Max’s Executive Vice President of Production, shared her enthusiasm: “Our partnership with TAT is pivotal in bringing to life the vivid imagination of Mike White. Thailand’s breathtaking locales will be instrumental in welcoming the new roster of The White Lotus guests.”

This season of The White Lotus features an illustrious cast, including Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Natasha Rothwell, alongside Thai talents Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong. The series, created by Mike White, who also directs and executive produces alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine, first captivated audiences in 2021. Set in Hawaii, its inaugural season garnered 20 Emmy nominations and ten wins, including Best Limited or Anthology Series. Its Sicilian sequel, premiering in December 2022, earned 23 Emmy nods, including Best Drama Series.

The tapestry of The White Lotus Season 3 is woven with threads of anticipation and cultural celebration. As Thailand’s picturesque landscapes prepare to enchant a global audience, the country stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of nature’s artistry and human creativity.
