The world’s largest sailing ship, Golden Horizon, will grace the foreshores of the glamorous, sun-kissed French and Italian Rivieras in 2023, using the power of wind to take sea lovers to smaller, less visited villages. And to help Australians see more on their European holiday, Australian small ship cruising specialist, Cruise Traveller, has combined two voyages back-to-back in a package offering savings of up to A$3520 per couple – and A$695 for solo travellers -for bookings made by March 31, 2022.
Plus, bookings made by March 31, 2022, only require a deposit of A$400 per person instead of 15 per cent of the booking.
Cruise Traveller is the exclusive Australian representative for Tradewind Voyages, which operates the majestic, five-masted Golden Horizon sailing ship.
Cruise Traveller’s new, 16-night ‘Grand Italy, Spain and France’ combo cruise package starts on May 18, 2023, with a night at a hotel in Barcelona, followed by 15 magical nights aboard the 272-guest Golden Horizon as she sails to 10 destinations on the way to Rome – many of them tiny, beautiful ports inaccessible to larger ships.
Destinations include the fashionable French Riviera beach resorts of St Tropez, Antibes and Cannes, the postcard-perfect harbour village of Portofino on the Italian Rivera, Livorno near the Tuscan Renaissance city of Florence, the French holiday island of Corsica, the sandy beaches on the Italian island of Sardinia and the lively fishing port of Porto Santo Stefano north of Rome. The cruise ends in Rome.
The 16-night package is available from A$10,995 per person, twin-share, in an oceanview cabin – a saving of A$450. In a spacious upper deck balcony suite, fares are from A$34,120 per person, twin-share – a saving of A$1760 per person or A$3520 per couple. Solo fares are available from A$16,385 in an oceanview cabin – a saving of A$695.
The savings apply to bookings made by March 31, 2022. Plus, if a booking is made before this date, a deposit of just A$400 per person is required.
Fares include a night, pre-cruise in Barcelona, onboard gratuities and the special inclusions for Australians of onboard Wi-Fi, laundry (excluding dry cleaning) and an all-day beverage package. Flights from Australia are additional.
Launched last year, the 162m-long Golden Horizon is a modern, luxurious and spacious square rigger but also graceful and traditional in style, with the eco-friendly vessel, which boasts 6300 square metres of billowing sails, designed to be under the sole power of wind for 70 per cent of the time. Golden Horizon offers modern-day seafarers a fine cuisine dining room, three pools, gym, library, spa sanctuary, four bars, a marina platform and a collection of kayaks, waterskis and wakeboards for guests to use. All 140 cabins offer ocean vistas.
