The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) Board of Directors approved the Bureau’s $28.97 million FY2027 operating budget during its regular meeting today, along with several actions supporting GVB’s operations, international market activities, and community partnerships.
The FY2027 operating budget supports GVB’s core areas of marketing, destination development, administration and research. GVB’s work to promote and develop Guam as a visitor destination contributes to an industry that supports businesses, jobs, household income, and government revenues across the island.
In 2025, the tourism industry generated a total economic impact of $1.6 billion. The visitor economy supported over 15,000 jobs and generated $163 million in local government revenues. The $28.97 million FY2027 budget represents approximately 2% of the Government of Guam’s overall FY2027 budget. Board Actions
The Board approved FY2027 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 official travel to support GVB participation in tourism trade shows, travel fairs, roadshows, educational programs, industry meetings, and other official activities in key markets.
Other actions approved by the Board included:
- GVB RFP 2025-018 – Authorization to contract with the highest rated offeror for Legal Services, with current rates maintained for the first six months.
- GVB RFP 2026-003 – Authorization to procure for a Korea Country Manager, supporting GVB’s continued representation and engagement in the South Korean market.
- Support for the Humatak Mayor’s Office Humatak Village Festival and Guam History and CHamoru Heritage Festival.
- Up to $60,000 for GuamTime’s Jingle Bell Block Party, including coordination for a school chorale competition.
All actions were approved without opposition.
The next regular GVB Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for October 22, 2026.
