Korean Air will begin transitioning Asiana Airlines bookings and flight numbers, marking a key operational step ahead of the integrated airline’s official launch on December 17.
From November 2 to December 3, the airline will conduct a phased re-accommodation process to convert Asiana Airlines flight numbers (OZ) to Korean Air flight numbers (KE). This applies to passengers holding existing Asiana Airlines bookings and tickets departing on or after December 17.
The advance migration ensures service continuity and operational stability as Asiana Airlines flights transition to Korean Air operations. Bookings will be migrated in stages to safeguard system reliability.
Korean Air will notify ticketed passengers individually via SMS, mobile messaging platforms, and email with their updated itinerary and ticket details prior to departure. A dedicated frequently asked questions (FAQ) section detailing integration-related operational changes is also available on the airline’s official website and mobile app.
“Our main priority during this integration is minimizing disruption for our passengers and maintaining stable service,” said a Korean Air spokesperson. “By rolling out these changes in phases and providing advance notice, we are committed to maintaining operational stability throughout the handover.”
