Centara Hotels & Resorts is planting a fresh flag on Vietnam’s north-east coast. The new Centara Van Don hotel comes with bay views, 481 rooms and enough meeting space to keep the name badges busy.
A bayfront base with serious reach
Centara Hotel & Residences Van Don is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. It will stand in the Ao Tien High-Class Port and Tourism Urban Area, facing Bai Tu Long Bay. The site is about 15 minutes from Van Don International Airport. It will be Centara’s second hotel in Vietnam.
The setting should do much of the selling. Bai Tu Long Bay is known for its calm waters, green islands, and bold limestone formations. Quang Ninh’s tourism authority says the bay area has limestone islets, rich natural life and a growing range of eco-tourism trips. In other words, guests may need more storage space for photographs than shirts.
Rooms built for flexible stays
The new hotel will target couples, families, tour groups and business guests. It will also suit longer stays. Its rooms and suites will cover 12 types. Each will have a kitchenette, fresh décor and a useful layout. That is a sound idea when a holiday lasts longer than the minibar’s contents.
Room choices will range from bay-view rooms to large family suites. Centara’s hotel page also lists two top suites of 439 square metres. They should provide ample room for families, VIP guests and anyone who believes one suitcase is merely an opening bid.
Food will be another key part of the offer. Menus will draw on Vietnamese, Italian, Chinese, Western and other Asian tastes. The hotel will also have a lounge and a pool-bar service. Guests can use indoor and outdoor pools, a Kids’ Club, a gym and SPA Cenvaree. Shops, family activities and guided bay trips will round out the stay.
Events move firmly into the frame
Centara is also making a firm play for meetings and events. Plans call for two ballrooms and six meeting rooms. The spaces will host conferences, weddings, social events and group functions.
The project arrives as Quang Ninh adds new bay tours and places greater emphasis on the care of the region’s natural assets. That gives the hotel a clear business case: good air access, striking scenery and room for tourism to grow.
Centara Hotel & Residences Van Don is not simply another hotel by the water. It is a bold move into a rising coastal market. The bay may look peaceful, but the race for Vietnam’s next great resort address is well underway.
