Keen skiers and snowboarders took their first turns of the season on the Learners’ Slope, while terrain park riders enjoyed a selection of rail features from Cardrona Parks. The McDougall’s gondola was open for sightseeing, and three food and beverage outlets were open to keep everyone fuelled for the day.
Chief Mountains Officer Laura Hedley says it was a great first day on the mountain.
“The snowmaking team has worked incredibly hard to get us here, and the natural snow mid-week was a welcome boost. It was a fantastic day to be on the mountain – and this is just the beginning. We’ll continue snowmaking through the cold temperatures ahead, and more terrain will open as conditions allow.”
Treble Cone’s Saturday scheduled opening has been delayed until snow conditions allow for skiing and snowboarding, with updates on their social media channels.
