LATAM Airlines and Chimu Adventures hosted a select group of key Australian travel partners in Peru, delivering a comprehensive first-hand experience of the airline’s extensive network and the rich cultural offering of one of South America’s most in-demand destinations.The nine-day itinerary offered six agents from Flight Centre Travel Group the opportunity to explore Peru’s most iconic highlights, including Lima, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco.
Designed to deepen product knowledge and strengthen trade engagement, the famil provided an opportunity for agents to experience LATAM’s onboard product firsthand, providing valuable insight into the airline’s long-haul offering. This included experiencing LATAM’s cabin service, inflight dining and comfort across key routes.
Agents were also treated to an immersive journey through one of LATAM Airlines’ key gateway destinations, showcasing seamless connectivity into Peru and the range of premium travel experiences available to Australian travellers.
The program commenced in Lima, where agents explored the capital’s culinary and historic scene. Highlights included a private guided tour through the city’s colonial centre, visits to local markets and tastings of traditional Peruvian cuisine, reinforcing Lima’s reputation as the gastronomic capital of the Americas.
From Lima, the group travelled to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, experiencing the dramatic landscapes of the Andes while staying at a traditional hacienda-style property. Agents participated in a series of curated touring experiences, including visits to local villages, ancient ruins and the opportunity to engage directly with Andean communities through a cultural immersion in Lamay.
A key highlight of the itinerary was the journey to Machu Picchu. Agents travelled aboard the scenic expedition train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, followed by a guided exploration of the famed Inca citadel, offering sweeping panoramic views and insights into one of the region’s most significant archaeological sites.
The experience continued in Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire, where participants explored a blend of Incan and colonial heritage. Guided walking tours included landmarks such as the Koricancha Temple, Cusco Cathedral and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, further highlighting the depth of cultural experiences available within LATAM’s network.
Throughout the journey, agents experienced a carefully curated selection of accommodation, seamless ground transfers and expert-led touring, demonstrating the ease of travel across multiple destinations within Peru with Chimu Adventures and LATAM Airlines.
