From Thursday 30 October to Sunday 2 November, festival-goers of all ages will be invited to either Trick or Treat through the laneways of The Rocks by day and night, or Trick or Drink by night in Sydney’s most thrilling cocktail crawl.
AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST TRICK OR TREAT RETURNS
As Halloween continues to grow in popularity across the country, Ghost Festival is proud to host the nation’s largest Trick or Treat experience, right in the heart of Sydney and each day, the first hour is free for all.
Last year, more than 8,000 participants took part in the precinct-wide adventure, and in 2025 the experience returns bigger and sweeter than ever. Running across all festival hours, from sundown to nightfall, Trick or Treat transforms The Rocks into a whimsical Halloween trail featuring six themed candy stations, each offering a unique surprise, sweet, or spooky interaction.
Tickets start at $10, which includes a Trick or Treat Passport and lolly bag, or upgrade to the limited-edition Orange Ghost Bucket for $17 and double your candy haul.
It’s playful, interactive, and perfect for families, groups, and anyone chasing a sugar rush with a side of adventure.

INTRODUCING TRICK OR DRINK, SYDNEY’S ULTIMATE HALLOWEEN COCKTAIL CRAWL, BECAUSE ADULTS DESERVE TO HAVE FUN TOO.
As the sun sets and the shadows creep in, the energy shifts.
Launching this year is Trick or Drink, created to give Sydney a whole new way to celebrate Halloween with friends. It’s part cocktail crawl, part interactive game night, and entirely immersive.
Over the course of one spooky night, groups of up to eight will travel through four haunted bar stations, each offering a signature Halloween cocktail but there’s a catch. Before sipping, participants must complete a cheeky challenge… or face a trick first.
The themed stops include:
- Zombie Apocalypse – Syringe shots & survival rolls
- Abandoned Asylum – Spin the restraint & tell no lies
- Slaughter Bar – No-hands ration slushies
- The Ouija Bar – Draw your fate, from romantic to absurd
Each bar offers immersive sets, custom cocktails, live performers, and spooky fun. Trick or Drink is a one-of-a-kind nightlife experience that redefines what a Halloween night out can be.

HOUSE OF HORRORS PARTY – LINE-UP ANNOUNCED
Back by popular demand, the House of Horrors Party returns after a sold-out debut in 2024, where more than 1,000 revellers danced deep into the night across three haunted levels of a real haunted house in The Rocks.
In 2025, the party is back, bigger, darker, and louder than ever with a stacked DJ line-up set to summon the undead to the dance floor.
This year’s line-up includes:
- Bria (tech house / deep & dirty Halloween set)
- Ayebatonye (Afro-House meets haunted basslines)
- DJ Charlie Villas (witchy disco & spooky classics)
- Kilimi (club chaos, glitchy techno, and eerie edits)
- Estee Louder (closing set — expect fog, fire, and full possession)
Two sessions will run nightly on Friday and Saturday (8 PM–11 PM and 11 PM–1 AM), with costumed freaks, immersive rooms, and dancefloor rituals unfolding in Sydney’s most haunted space.
GHOST FESTIVAL
Ghost Festival is a must-see free event for anyone seeking to experience a frightfully delightful Halloween experience in the heart of The Rocks, where the historic lanes will be haunted by spine-tingling stories twisting into real-life events.
INTERESTING FACTS
Some believe the restless spirits of sailors, convicts, and plague victims still wander The Rocks’s cobbled streets today.
One of the most chilling tales is that of Anne Kirkman, a young woman whose husband was lost at sea. Stricken with grief, Anne died suddenly of typhoid fever in her Cumberland Street terrace. Locals insist her ghost still lingers, drifting through the laneways in a long white gown, lantern in hand, as if eternally waiting for her beloved to return from the harbour. On quiet nights, some even claim to hear the faint sound of her sobs echoing through the stones of The Rocks.
