Aussies are roaring with excitement as Velocity the Lion, Virgin Australia’s newest (and furriest) Cabin Crew member, makes an impression with sport fans across the nation.
With a mane full of pride and a soft spot for team spirit, Velocity has been feeling the love – so he’s here to reward his pride of loyal fans. Until 6 August, anyone who snaps a photo or video of Velocity in the wild and tags @VirginAustralia will go in the draw to win return domestic economy flights anywhere in Australia*. 
And because every pride needs its pack, Velocity’s crewmates are joining the fun, too. Virgin Australia Cabin Crew are sporting their low mane-tenance ‘lion ears’ in and around terminals, as well as in-flight, for a limited time to bring a playful twist to the fun, flair and wonderful service that’s made Virgin Australia the nation’s most loved airline.
“I might be the new kid in the cabin, but I’m here to make flying even more remarkable,” said Velocity. “Spot me, snap a pic, and tag @VirginAustralia to enter to win flights. After all, every journey should come with a little surprise and delight – and maybe even a roar!”
Virgin Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Libby Minogue, added: “Velocity has well and truly become King of the Cabin – he’s taken over our social channels, hearts and camera rolls in record time. Fans are hunting him down in packs, with some stopping just short of a tackle to get that perfect selfie.”
Winners will be announced each week, but please allow for some delays – our lion likes to nap during the day and binge sport all weekend.

To enter to win return economy domestic flights on Virgin Australia, Aussies must snap a photo or video of Velocity the Lion and post it to Instagram or TikTok with #SpotTheLion. Winners will be announced after each upcoming sport test match.
