Spread the love

In celebration of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day on August 4, DoubleTree by Hilton is once again extending its signature warm welcome to all — from hotel guests to devoted cookie fans, and first-time visitors alike. At any of the nearly 400 DoubleTree by Hilton locations across the United States, anyone who stops in can enjoy a complimentary cookie of their choice: the original warm chocolate chip cookie or an allergy-friendly version.DT Allergy-Friendly Cookie Packaging

“Our chocolate chip cookie at check-in remains a timeless symbol of the simple gestures that the DoubleTree by Hilton stay experience is known for,” said Shawn McAteer, brand leader, DoubleTree by Hilton. “On National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, we’re proud to extend that warmth beyond our hotel guests, offering a taste of the welcoming service that makes travelers feel genuinely cared for.”

First introduced in 1986, and now beloved by travelers around the world, the cookie has become an enduring part of the DoubleTree by Hilton experience, and it has quite the story to tell. Below are some recent milestones since the cookie debuted.

  • 2019: Became the first-ever food baked in space during experiments aboard the International Space Station.
  • 2023: Introduced the allergy-friendly version  to extend a welcome to even more guests. The soft-baked allergy-friendly cookie is gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, and free of the top nine allergens (wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish).
  • 2024: Landed on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia as the first food baked in space.
  • 2025: Unveiled DoubleTree by Hilton’s  newest dining concept, piebird, slated to open its first location later this year. The piebird menu will feature a “Cookie-tini” cookie martini, which pays homage to the signature DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie.

Today, over 20 million DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookies are enjoyed each year, using over 1.2 million pounds of chocolate chips.

Mark your calendars and join us to celebrate this delicious occasion at a DoubleTree by Hilton near you on August 4th.
