Tsu Japanese Restaurant at JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok invites guests on a culinary journey to Japan’s fertile northeast with a limited-time menu inspired by the rich flavors of Ibaraki Prefecture. In collaboration with the Ibaraki Prefectural Government, this exclusive promotion runs from 1 July to 31 August 2025 and showcases the region’s renowned produce, premium meats, and artisanal sake.
Often referred to as the “Kitchen Garden of Tokyo,” Ibaraki is celebrated for its bountiful agriculture, pristine waters, and deep-rooted food traditions. But beyond its culinary identity, the prefecture is also home to captivating landscapes and cultural landmarks. From the sweeping floral displays at Hitachi Seaside Park to the sunrise-lit Kamiiso-no-Torii gate on the Oarai Coast, the prefecture offers nature,
history, and serenity in equal measure. Visitors can also marvel at the towering Ushiku Daibutsu, one of the tallest Buddha statues in the world, or explore the dramatic Fukuroda Falls, which transforms with each season from lush greenery in summer to frozen beauty in winter.
The culinary team at Tsu has crafted a selection of à la carte dishes using seasonal ingredients flown in from Ibaraki, each highlighting the prefecture’s culinary heritage and distinctive local flavors. Signature offerings include the Ryugasaki Croquette, a comforting bite of crispy potato croquettes filled with A5-grade Hitachi wagyu beef, carrot, onion, and served with a tangy tonkatsu sauce and a touch of mayonnaise. The Kasama Inari Baked Sushi is a creative twist on a classic with soyabean curd skin filled with sushi rice, walnuts, and maitake mushrooms, baked and topped with a rich cream cheese-mayo sauce, teriyaki glaze, and shaved bonito flakes. Another option, the Hitachi Wagyu Beef Striploin Steak showcases the region’s prized A5 wagyu, simply grilled and served with seasonal vegetables to let the superior marbling and flavor shine.
Noodle lovers can enjoy the Hitachi Akisoba “Kenchin Soup Style”, featuring buckwheat noodles served with a warming dashi-based broth, enriched with chicken, shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, carrot, and onion, a rustic and nourishing dish that reflects Ibaraki’s seasonal cooking traditions. For dessert, the Kasama Chestnut Mont Blanc Cake celebrates prefecture’s famed chestnuts from Kasama city, layered with sweetened white bean purée and velvety chestnut cream. To complete the experience, the Salmon Sashimi with Salmon de SHU pairs fresh-cut salmon with a specialty sake created by Ibaraki’s Yoshikubo Brewery — a unique junmai blend designed specifically to balance the richness of salmon with acidity and umami.
This special menu is available for both lunch and dinner at Tsu Japanese Restaurant from 1 July to 31 August 2025, with prices starting from THB 240++ per menu.
