Popular community-driven cybersecurity conference, CrikeyCon, is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow.
The event, taking place in the Royal International Convention Centre, is expected to attract more than 1,000 cybersecurity enthusiasts, gaining valuable insights into the latest security trends and best practices.
The annual conference features talks by industry professionals including Sarah Young from Microsoft, as well as workshops and interactive activities covering topics such as AI-powered website and app hacking, digital malware analysis, privacy and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
In celebration of its milestone year, CrikeyCon has introduced Australia’s first-ever Meshtastic Capture the Flag event, inviting everyone from seasoned hackers to curious enthusiasts to explore off-grid communications and put their problem-solving skills to the test. Meshtastic relies on Long Range radio signals, allowing participants to connect without Wi-Fi, mobile networks or satellites.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were excited to host CrikeyCon for the third consecutive year.
“We’re thrilled to welcome CrikeyCon back to the Brisbane Showgrounds for its 10th anniversary, bringing together experts and enthusiasts to collaborate and explore the future of cybersecurity in Australia,” he said.
The event will take place from 8am to 8pm, with tickets still available online.
The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor/outdoor events site. Visit www.brisbaneshowgrounds.com.au
