AUSTRALASIA’S premium global rail wholesaler, International Rail, has partnered with the popular scenic rail journey, The Glacier Express, to offer the opportunity for agents to book their clients’ seats up to 365 days in advance.
Traditionally, seats on the Glacier Express could only be booked 90 days in advance, with this short booking horizon often causing angst for agents incorporating the experience into an itinerary for clients.
IR’s new Glacier Express Classic from Zermatt to St Moritz (or V.V) package includes pre- and post- accommodation with the rail ticket allowing clients to secure seats 365 days in advance. Available from $1239 per person for second class travel, it includes one night
three-star accommodation in Zermatt and St Moritz with breakfast, seat reservation and rail highlights as per the itinerary. It is also available in First and Excellence class.
This new service will assist agents in forward planning their client’s holiday with assurance of a seat on the specific days they wish to travel, says owner and managing director, Jonathan Hume.
Hume continued, “The majority of our market which purchases the Glacier Express journey include it in an extensive holiday that is usually booked at least six months ahead of time. By offering this service we can streamline the booking and seat reservation process at lot quicker than in the past”.
Upgrade options include four- and five-star accommodation, additional accommodation nights, on-board meals, and various local experiences. There is also a luggage forwarding service available for purchase, clients simply leave their bags at the reception at check-out and the bags will be transported to your next hotel’s room for arrival.
