Since the arrival of its latest ships – Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey – Celestyal has been busy updating its onboard culinary offering to reflect its contemporary fleet and many of the changes will please Australian food and coffee connoisseurs.

In recent months, Celestyal has updated the specialty restaurant menus (which have a small additional fee) on its boutique two-ship fleet including a meaty new line up at Mediterranean style brasserie, Grill Seekers, fit for barbecue loving guests. Guests can now enjoy Brazilian Picanha steak, American Wagyu, Argentinian black angus beef, Danish pork tomahawk and Australian lamb chops, as well as a selection of seafood including fresh Aegean fish, Cuban lobster and jumbo shrimp, for dinner on both ships.

Pink Moon restaurant, exclusive to Celestyal Journey, features a revised Asian-inspired menu, complete with ramen and noodle bowls.

Alongside the enhanced menus, a new pricing approach has been implemented with items now costed individually, allowing greater flexibility for guests. Or Pink Moon diners can opt for a three-course set menu for €40 (approx. A$65), The Smoked Olive Mediterranean restaurant offers a five-course option for €45 (approx. A$70) and the Grill Seekers brasserie has the choice of a five-course set menu for €49 (approx. A$80).

In perhaps the most important news for coffee-obsessed Australians, Celestyal has a new onboard cafe in partnership with globally renowned Italian coffee brand illy.

The venue, named Café Nation, is available on Celestyal Discovery and marks the first-time the cruise line has had a dedicated coffee bar with trained baristas.

Café Nation will offer more than 90 specialist drinks including a selection of barista poured hot coffee beverages, herbal infused teas, creamy hot chocolates and frappuccinos, iced coffees and teas, as well as cold brewed coffee. Guests can also choose from seven different varieties of coffee including five single origins, blended premium or decaf, made with illy’s unique blend originating from nine of the best 100% Arabica varieties, sourced from the top 1% of Arabica varieties cultivated worldwide.

A new award-winning Alchemy Cocktail Menu at the Star Lounge on Celestyal Discovery and Blue Bar & Lounge on Celestyal Journey offers the latest in sophisticated cocktail trends, from matcha infusions to giant ice cubes and intricate skeleton leave garnishes. Specially trained mixologists create cocktail works of art which incorporate local ingredients and use techniques and flavours inspired by the destinations Celestyal’s ships visit.
