Marriott International announced it has signed agreements for a dual-branded hotel development that will bring both Fairfield by Marriott and Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy to Australia for the first time. The new-build project will be located on Bridge Road in the vibrant inner-city suburb of Richmond and is set to open in two stages in 2026.
Scheduled to open mid-2026, the soon to be named is expected to debut with 26 units, offering contemporary one and two-bedroom apartment-style units designed for longer-stay guests. This is slated to be followed by the 100-room Fairfield by Marriott hotel in late 2028, delivering the brand’s signature contemporary and effortless stay experience.
The hotels are owned by a consortium of Melbourne-based individuals with longstanding experience in property development across Australia and China, including the Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne, Flagstaff Gardens. The properties will be operated by Gatehouse Hospitality through a third-party management agreement.
