Elections were on the agenda when the key State Advisory Committee to Accommodation Australia NSW met in Sydney recently.
Respected chair Richard Doyle of Seibu Prince Hotels Worldwide was re-elected, with Mark Ronfeltd, CEO of Daiwa Living Waldorf Holdings the new deputy. Farewelled was longstanding co-chair Patrick Lonergan from Mulpha Group who stood down after years of service.
A new committee member – Matthew Guy, Meriton Area Regional Manager was welcomed at the meeting at the Hyatt Regency.
AA NSW general manager Stacey McBride said the committee was now set for a big year ahead.
“The Committee remains in experienced hands with Richard, while at the same time we farewell one of our greats in his former co-chair Patrick.
“Patrick has done outstanding work for the sector, especially during the amalgamation of TAA and AAoA. I join Richard in thanking Patrick for his hard work on behalf of the industry and welcome Mark as to his new role of deputy, and Matthew to the committee.”
Mr Doyle said the meeting also set priorities for 2026.
“A range of important issues were discussed – from STRA activity to the chronic shortage of key staff, especially chefs faced by our members,” he said.
“We received a valuable update from the National CEO James Goodwin on overarching strategy for the year ahead including immigration and Nabers ratings.
“I would like to take the chance to wish everyone a safe and prosperous Christmas and New Year and look forward to a promising 2026.”
