“Nikko Kitchen,” a new casual-style, locally sourced restaurant opened on October 1, 2025. Situated near Tobu Nikko Station, in the historic city of Nikko, it’s just under two hours north of Tokyo. The menu features tasty and aesthetically pleasing dishes, including Nikko Wagyu beef steak and sukiyaki with meat sourced from Tochigi Prefecture’s Kirifuki Highlands. They also serve up juicy hamburger steak, and crispy pork cutlets made with Tochigi’s Nasu-gunji pork.

Other dishes include Nikko’s famous yuba (tofu-skin), and sashimi and fish carpaccio, made from regionally farmed Yashio trout.
Featuring clean, wood-grain interiors with ample space between tables, the restaurant ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. Counter seats showcase Japanese garden views with the Nikko mountains in the background.
