Vietjet Thailand has announced a major milestone in its journey towards sustainable growth and fleet modernization with the delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This addition strengthens the airline’s fleet under its strategic expansion plan to reach a total of 50 aircraft by 2028, supporting the growth of both domestic and international flight network while aligning with the airline’s “Fly Green” initiative. With cutting-edge, eco-friendly aeronautical engineering, the new aircraft enhances the carrier’s operational standards and competitive edge in the Asian aviation market, further contributing to regional tourism, economic growth, and greater travel connectivity.

The Boeing 737-8 incorporates advanced aerodynamics and new-generation LEAP-1B engines, offering full compatibility with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and achieving up to 15–20% reductions in carbon emissions and up to 50% lower noise levels in surrounding communities, in compliance with ICAO standards. With a maximum range of 6,570 kilometers, the aircraft provides extended flight capability, allowing Vietjet to reach further destinations. Its Boeing Sky Interior features a brighter, quieter, and more spacious cabin, with larger overhead storage bins, ensuring passengers enjoy a comfortable and engaging journey. The introduction of the Boeing 737-8 also reinforces Vietjet Thailand’s “Fly Green” initiative, promoting sustainable growth through environmentally conscious aviation technologies, Green Routes powered by SAF, and responsible business practices that benefit society and local communities, underscoring the airline’s commitment to advancing sustainable aviation while continuously enhancing the passenger experience.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Vietjet Thailand, stated, “The delivery of our first Boeing 737-8 marks a significant milestone in elevating Vietjet Thailand’s competency towards becoming a leading low-cost carrier in the region. The aircraft will improve operational efficiency, extend direct flight range, and significantly reduce fuel consumption. The introduction of the Boeing 737-8 not only represents the first step of our fleet reinforcement but also a strategic investment to ensure long-term business resilience. Vietjet Thailand is committed to extending flight network to offer passengers greater travel choices, connecting Thailand with major Asia-Pacific destinations including Japan, South Korea, India, China…, markets with high potential for both Thailand and the ASEAN region, while strengthening Thailand’s role as an aviation hub of ASEAN. Fleet modernization also forms a core part of our sustainable development plan, integrating advanced aeronautical technologies and innovative aviation solutions to minimize environmental impact, helping us grow alongside Thailand’s economy, tourism, and sustainability goals.

The airline will debut its first commercial flight with the Boeing 737-8 on the domestic ‘Bangkok–Chiang Mai’ route, followed by the first international service ‘Bangkok-Cam Ranh’ in December 2025. Vietjet Thailand plans to progressively receive all 50 x Boeing 737-8 aircraft by 2028 to meet the rising demand for air travel and expand its network connecting key destinations across the Asia-Pacific region
