Whistler Blackcomb officially kicks off the 2025/26 ski and ride season with the opening of Blackcomb Mountain this week, signalling the start of a winter of milestone anniversaries at North America’s largest mountain resort, including Whistler Mountain’s 60th season. To celebrate, the resort is officially launching Wonder Routes – a collection of seven self-guided tours designed to showcase the very best of both mountains.

A traditional welcome ceremony led by ambassadors from the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) at the Base of Blackcomb Gondola in the Upper Village will commence the opening with festivities continuing into next week, when Whistler Mountain opens for its Diamond Anniversary season.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the season here at Whistler Blackcomb with the opening of Blackcomb Mountain on 21 November, followed by Whistler Mountain next week for its 60th anniversary,” said Whistler Blackcomb Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Belinda Trembath. “Our Australian resorts had an incredible start to the season in June, so we’re excited to see snow in the forecast and bring the same energy, dedication, and enthusiasm to our opening day. We’re looking forward to getting Aussies back on snow and have them join us at Whistler Blackcomb this season.”
