Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has teamed up with Swiss watch manufacturer Breitling for the creation of a new Breitling watch to mark the arrival and entry into service of the new SWISS Airbus A350. The new Navitimer B01 Chronograph 46 SWISS Limited Edition will be produced in just 350 examples, and will be available exclusively to travelers aboard SWISS long-haul flights from 1 December onwards. The new watch can also be pre-ordered for such flights online – also from 1 December – via Duty Free Shopping at swiss.com. The price: CHF 8,350 (excluding VAT) or 2,338,000 Miles & More miles.

A unique design

Breitling’s Navitimer pilots’ watches have proved highly popular since the company launched its first model back in 1952. The latest in the line has a diameter of 46 millimeters, making it the largest watch that Breitling has ever developed in collaboration with SWISS. The new watch’s dial makes deft use of the color palette of the new ‘SWISS Senses’ cabin product – deep black, warm brown and beige tones and fine burgundy accents – to provide an appealingly contrasting display, while further discreet design features like the aircraft-shaped second hand counterweight and the sapphire glass caseback whose shape is inspired by the Airbus A350’s engines pay subtle homage to both the new SWISS long-haul twinjet and the aviation world.

The back of the watch is engraved with the SWISS logo and the remark ‘One of 350’, to confirm the model’s limited-edition nature. A personal note will also be provided for the new watch’s owners by an accompanying certificate of authenticity which will be signed by the SWISS captain commanding the flight on which the watch is purchased.

“In a world in which every second often seems to count on the ground and in the air, this watch is an embodiment of constancy, craftsmanship and genuine exclusivity,” says SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “I am delighted that we will be offering our inflight guests this special timepiece to mark the introduction of the SWISS Airbus A350. Our new long-haul twinjet is a masterpiece of precision, quality and reliability – values that are crucial not just in aviation but also in the watchmaker’s craft. So our collaboration with Breitling and on their new Navitimer bridges two worlds with multiple commonalities.”

“Our partnership with SWISS has been underpinned by our shared values – our Swiss roots, our excellence and our pioneering spirit – for several years now,” adds Breitling Chief Marketing Officer Jancu Koenig. “The Navitimer has been an icon of the aviation world for more than 70 years. And with this new SWISS Limited Edition we’re continuing this tradition and interpreting it anew for the next air travel era.”

Joint promoters of more sustainable air travel

SWISS and Breitling have been official partners since 2016, united by a passion for aviation, a dedication to quality and precision and a close collaboration on the sustainability front. Since 2022, Breitling has purchased sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for all its employees’ business travel on SWISS flights, and was SWISS’s first corporate customer to commit fully to SAF travel. In doing so, not only has Breitling tangibly reduced the carbon emissions generated by its own business travel activities: it is also making a vital contribution to the broader promotion of more sustainable air travel.
