A special New Year’s Eve dinner, bed and breakfast cruise, complete with fireworks, aboard the famous Murray River paddlesteamer, Emmylou, is a highlight of a new program of short cruises for this summer just unveiled by Murray River Paddlesteamers .
The new summer program aboard Emmylou from December 26, 2025, to January 31, 2026, also features a range of 2.5 hour dinner cruises and one-hour cruises – all from the historic Murray River port of Echuca in Victoria.
The paddlesteamer, Emmylou, starred in the hit 1980s TV mini-series, ‘All the Rivers Run’, starring Sigrid Thornton, and is still one of the most recognisable and iconic river boats in Australia. Powered by a restored 1906 steam engine and totally refurbished with deluxe cabins and ensuites, the charm-filled riverboat offers authentic and nostalgic journeys along the mighty Murray, with captivating views of passing scenery and wildlife.
* The New Year’s Eve dinner, bed and breakfast cruise on December 31, 2025, from 7pm to just after midnight, includes a welcome glass of sparkling, festive, five-course dinner as the sun sets, framed by majestic river gums, live music from a solo artist, midnight fireworks above Echuca, overnight cabin accommodation aboard Emmylou with ensuite and breakfast the next morning before disembarkation. Fares are from $450 per person, twin-share. Adults-only.
* New Year’s Eve revellers can also opt for a dinner-only cruise on December 31, 2025, from 7pm to midnight for $195 per person including welcome glass of sparkling, five-course meal, live music and fireworks. Adults only.
* Elegant dinner cruises aboard the historic Emmylou for 2.5 hours are also available throughout the summer holiday season from December 26, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The cruises, set against the warm golden light of summer over the Murray, include a three-course dinner and are available for $155 per person (aged 15 and over), with an upgrade of $50 per person available for a private table on the bow of the boat with sweeping river views.
* Emmylou will also be offering one-hour scenic cruises from Echuca for $45 per adult (15 and over) and $35 (aged 1-14) several times a day from December 26, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
