IHG Hotels & Resorts successfully concluded its annual “IHG Run for Good” charity event at Vachirabenjatas Park (Suan Rot Fai) in Bangkok. Now in its third consecutive year, the event attracted strong support from colleagues, partners, and communities across Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui under the theme “Light the Way: Every Step Counts, Every Voice Matters” that embraces empathy, inclusion and community empowerment.

This year, the event saw participation and support from close to 7,000 people, including over 3,500 runners. The run featured three categories – 2 KM Walk & Run, 4 KM Fun Run, and 9 KM Run – welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels. With thousands of runners across the three destinations, the event raised THB 1,057,016 for the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. The Queen.

This year’s funds will support visually impaired students nationwide through the purchase of a 3D Educational Material Production Machine for the Educational Technology for the Blind Centre. This innovative machine recycles used PET plastic bottles into tactile 3D learning materials, enabling 2,000 students from 16 schools for the blind across Thailand to access more interactive and inclusive education.

Patrick Both, Director of Operations, Luxury & Lifestyle, IHG Hotels & Resorts Thailand, said: “IHG Run for Good is a special tradition for us in Thailand, and this year we were proud to see such strong participation and support from our community once again. Together, we are not only raising funds but also raising awareness of the importance of inclusion and accessibility. By helping bring innovative tools like the 3D educational material machine to students, we hope to light the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.”

The charity run is part of IHG’s “Giving for Good Month” in September, an annual global initiative that encourages colleagues to give back to their communities in meaningful ways. In 2025, the Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui runs embodied the spirit of empathy, inclusion, and community empowerment through the inspiring theme of light and vision. By inviting participants to “light the path” for those without sight, the event served as a powerful reminder that while not everyone can see the world, everyone deserves to be seen, supported, and included.
