Around 55 travel agents gathered at Pimpama Sports Hub, on the Gold Coast last night, for a fun and friendly Pickleball Championship hosted by Collette, one of the world’s longest running tour operators.
The inaugural tournament kicked off the company’s recently renewed agreement as the “Official Holiday Partner” for Pickleball Australia and was held during the Australian Pickleball Championships in Queensland, the flagship event on the sport’s calendar.
The evening provided an opportunity for Collette team members to relax with their travel agent partners in a fun and friendly setting.
The tournament was set up to include players of all skill sets with paddles and coaching provided on the night.
Representatives from Helloworld, Flight Centre Travel Group, Express Travel Group and numerous other agencies were out in full force to join the fast-paced on-court activities. Players were also treated to music, dinner and drinks throughout the night while they waited excitedly to see who would take home the Collette prizes. Kristiarne Sauer (MTA Travel t/a Mark My World Travel) and Lorraine Mair (Travel Managers AU) had their names drawn as the lucky winners of a Collette tour to Tuscany.
“It was a fantastic evening bringing together travel agents in a relaxed, social setting and celebrating the strong connections within our industry,” said David Farrar, Sales Engagement Manager at Collette.
