More than a residence, The Aspen Tree is a “Holistic Health Care Community for Lifelong Well-Being”, purposefully designed as a holistic environment for independent living. Situated within The Forestias, a multi-generational neighborhood offering diverse housing options—The Aspen Tree nurtures meaningful connections across generations. Residents enjoy opportunities to engage in community activities while maintaining their own private, serene spaces amid expansive greenery. This integration of nature, social connection, and personalized care embodies the project’s core vision of supporting seniors’ physical and emotional wellness.
“Twenty years ago, I envisioned a project where children and seniors could live together in a family-like community. The idea was to have two adults caring for five children and two elders, fostering a warm culture of family and village life. This would give children who lacked love brothers, sisters, parents, and grandparents. We began studying how to make this possible how to design a financial model that could ensure continuous income and sustainability as a social enterprise.”
“In 2008, we organized a nationwide competition for social enterprise models, and the winning team named the project ‘Baan Boon Tham’. We researched further; we realized how challenging lifelong elder care truly is. Unlike children, who eventually grow to be independent, seniors need ongoing, specialized support throughout their lives.”
“In the end, I concluded that if we wanted to bring Baan Boon Tham to life, we should first establish a senior living project as a sustainable business. By being a business, it must have knowledge, systems, and professional expertise to ensure seniors receive safe and high-quality care. At the same time, it could generate profits to support the long-term vision of a sustainable social enterprise.”
“When we began developing The Forestias, a project built on the concept of connecting four generations and helping people reconnect with nature, we decided it was the ideal place to launch The Aspen Tree. To ensure the highest standards of care for seniors, we invited Baycrest, the world’s leading expert from Canada, to collaborate with us. Our long-term goal is to expand into mid- and mass-market communities and ultimately return to the vision of creating Baan Boon Tham for orphans and the elderly.” Mrs. Thippaporn explained.
In healthcare, preventive care and holistic well-being are at the heart of The Aspen Tree. To achieve this, the project has partnered with Baycrest Global Solutions, a world-renowned Canadian organization with over 105 years of expertise, to set new standards in retirement community health and wellness in Thailand.
The Aspen Tree offers three core services:
- Main Facilities: Residences, a Wellness Center, and a Health & Brain Center.
- International-standard Aging-in-Place residences, providing integrated health and quality-of-life solutions.
- Management by Baycrest Global Solutions, a global leader in senior care and brain health innovation.

Dr. William E. Reichman, President and CEO of Baycrest, added “As the managing partner of The Aspen Tree, Baycrest brings its leadership in advancing senior health, wellness, and innovation to Thailand. We are sharing knowledge and proven practices from over a century of research and experience to empower Thai professionals. This ensures that seniors here receive international-standard care while continuing to enjoy independence and safety within The Aspen Tree community.”
“Baycrest is globally recognized as a pioneer in elder care, brain health innovation, and preventive research. With more than 105 years of experience, Baycrest holds the highest accreditation from Accreditation Canada and is a leading force in setting global benchmarks for safety and senior care.”
“Among its innovations is Cogniciti, a brain health assessment tool developed by the Centre for Brain Health and Wellness, designed to address cognitive decline and prevent brain-related conditions common among individuals aged 50 and above. This tool will also be introduced to The Aspen Tree community.”
“Baycrest is home to the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), supported by Baycrest, Baycrest Academy for Research and Education (BARE), and the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging. The organization serves as a hub connecting scientists across Canada in dementia research. Baycrest collaborates with the University of Toronto to deliver professional training programs in senior health care. To date, Baycrest has trained professionals in over 40 countries, with the mission of advancing the global standard of senior wellness and care.” said Mr. Reichman

Dr. Urairat Siriwatvejakul, Medical Director of The Aspen Tree, explained that the
Health & Brain Center was established in collaboration with Asia’s first
Happiness Science Hub, a pioneering research center focused on unlocking the secrets of the human brain to identify the factors that create happiness. These new insights are being translated into innovations that improve quality of life, especially for those aged 50 and above.
The findings from the Happiness Science Hub are being applied within The Aspen Tree to foster lasting happiness of both body and mind. The Hub studies human behavior and psychology across all life stages, using neuroscience and brain-signal analysis to promote positive emotions, mental well-being, and resilience against aging-related decline. This includes research into reducing the risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, ensuring that people in every stage of life can live with greater joy and fulfillment.
The Health & Brain Center delivers specialized medical services led by trained professionals with international standards. Programs are designed scientifically to align with each individual’s lifestyle and holistic wellness needs. Residents and clients receive support from a multidisciplinary team—including physicians, therapists, nutritionists, and Care Angels—who provide world-class care in assessment, treatment, prevention, and management of age-related conditions. Services include Primary Care and preventive health consultation, Life Planning, Pain Management Clinic, Memory Care, Balance & Bone Health, Sleep Health, Nutrition & Personalized Meal Planning, Wound and Nail Care, and Incontinence & Hygiene Care.
To further support families, the Health & Brain Center also operates the Aspen Day Center, a day-care facility for seniors. This center offers medical monitoring, physical activities, cognitive training, recreation, and social engagement. With expert care from doctors, nurses, nutritionists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, and Care Angels, the Aspen Day Center provides peace of mind for working families while ensuring seniors enjoy safety, dignity, and happiness during the day.
Ms. Nobklao Trakoolpan, Executive Vice President of The Aspen Tree, emphasized “The Aspen Tree and Baycrest share the same philosophy of care attention to detail, backed by Baycrest’s 105 years of experience. Together we bring a holistic approach to senior living. Our mission is to ensure that every resident experiences the true value of life here every day.”
“Residences at The Aspen Tree are carefully curated to support Aging-in-Place & Universal Design. Every detail from bathroom layouts and age-friendly furniture to level flooring, non-slip and impact-absorbing surfaces, proper lighting and air quality, motion sensors with automatic night lighting, and 24-hour security with emergency call buttons—ensures safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
The project offers two main residential types, Active Living Condominiums: 250 units, sized 82–120 sq.m. and Sky Villa Residences: 40 units, sized 183–201 sq.m. Both are designed for long-term living, blending independence with world-class health and wellness support.
The community’s shared spaces are rich with meaning and symbolism. Inspired by flowers and butterflies—symbols of freedom, vibrancy, and the renewal of dreams—The Aspen Tree reflects a place where residents flourish. It is not only a home but also a community where people enjoy health, safety, independence, and holistic well-being in every aspect of daily life.
At the heart of the community is the Wellness Clubhouse, a 6,000 sq.m. lifestyle and wellness hub designed to enrich residents’ physical, mental, and social well-being. The clubhouse offers a wide range of facilities, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fitness center, yoga studio, and a high-tech golf simulator. Residents can also enjoy a library corner, café and bakery, Aspen Lounge, arts and crafts studio, spa and beauty salon, karaoke rooms, and a mini theater. Dining experiences include a restaurant and private dining rooms. Outdoor amenities feature a Canopy Walk, therapeutic gardens, and glasshouses—seamlessly blending wellness, leisure, and nature.
Another key facility of the project is the Health & Brain Center (HBC), a specialized health and brain center for seniors. Facilities include a Geriatric Medicine Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Memory and Brain Clinic, Adult Day Care, Short-Term Rehabilitation Center, and Long-Term Care services for those requiring close supervision. All services are managed and operated by Baycrest, the world’s leading authority in senior care and brain health from Canada.
To further elevate quality of life, residents enjoy additional services such as weekly housekeeping, daily breakfast at the GoodWell Restaurant, and 24-hour emergency response. These reflect The Aspen Tree’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a retirement lifestyle filled with happiness, wellness, and peace of mind.
The Aspen Tree also received its 2nd-year certification from the American Accreditation Commission International (AACI), meeting the world’s strictest healthcare and wellness standards. The project is also designed in alignment with the WELL Building Standard, underscoring its dedication to international best practices in senior living, healthcare, and wellness services.
