Australian travellers flying into Narita International Airport have another compelling reason to slow down and explore the region, with the launch of a new NARITA BEYOND destination website and a dedicated airport booth at Narita International Airport – located in Terminal 1 Arrivals.
NARITA BEYOND is a regional destination brand created to showcase the hidden charm, cultural depth, and everyday experiences waiting just beyond Narita International Airport’s terminals. While Narita is often seen as a transit hub for the city of Tokyo, the area beyond the airport is rich with history, natural beauty, local cuisine, and warm hospitality – all within easy reach of the city, and perfect for short stays, stopovers, or slow travel extensions.
The newly launched NARITA BEYOND website (https://narita-beyond.jp/en/) offers English-language information about the region, travel ideas, and direct booking for local experiences. Additionally, the newly established NARITA BEYOND booth in the Narita International Airport Terminal 1 Arrivals combines traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern design. It serves as a gateway to the region for arriving passengers, providing inspiration and information for travel beyond the terminal through cultural exhibitions, vending machines offering local products, and event hosting.

Takashi Nishiguchi, Manager, Community and Environmental Affairs Department, at Narita International Airport Corporation, said:

“We are deeply honoured to have established a joint initiative with Plus Narita Lab to create a hub for attracting visitors to the region through both online and offline channels. Moving forward, we will continue to foster a virtuous cycle of mutual growth
between the airport and the surrounding community, guided by the principle that ‘airport development is regional development,’ with the ultimate goal of making the area thrive.”

Takeshi Fukushima, President & CEO, Plus Narita Lab Corp, said:

“Plus Narita Lab’s mission is to ‘realize the integrated development of Narita International Airport and the surrounding region.’ With the vision of ‘connecting the world and creating a fun and prosperous town,’ we collaborate with businesses in the airport
vicinity to offer unique Narita experiences, souvenirs, and dining options. With the opening of NARITA BEYOND, we aim to create more opportunities for international visitors to Narita to easily explore local spots and culture, and to encourage them to visit
the area.”
