The lights go out. The hush deepens. Somewhere in the distance, waves begin to crash. A voice breaks the darkness:
“It is April 10th, 1912. The air is crisp in Southampton as final farewells echo across the docks. You are among the select few stepping aboard a marvel of mankind — the R.M.S Titanic…”
Thus, begins Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic, the second immersive dining production from Carousel’s Hidden Table collection. After its debut season that stirred curiosity, Singapore’s first “sensory theatre of taste and storytelling” returns with a brand-new script; part tasting menu, part stage play—performed entirely in darkness.
A Story Served in Four Courses
Seated in complete darkness, diners embark on a four-act journey guided by sound, scent, and taste. Inspired by the legendary RMS Titanic, each course reflects a chapter of the ship’s final voyage; from hopeful departure to quiet reflection, with selected dishes recreated from the original First Class menu.
What unfolds is a sensory experience of anticipation, grandeur, and rediscovery — where flavours surprise, moments are shared, and silence speaks volumes. At times, diners may be prompted to react; to reach, to wear or to hold something new. Every element is designed to stir the senses and deepen immersion.
“We call it theatre you can taste,” says Mr Dharmik Kumar, General Manager of Royal Plaza of Scotts. “The darkness dissolves the wall between audience and stage. Where every rustle of linen and clink of glass becomes part of the performance.”
