There’s something rather heartening about the rhythm of routine – and in the ever-unpredictable world of travel, that’s precisely what the Australian Travel Industry Association (ATIA) is delivering with its next round of Pulse meetings, returning online this Thursday, 17 July.

If you’re an ATIA Accredited member and fancy keeping your finger firmly on the industry’s pulse (pun entirely intended), this is your chance to plug in, perk up and participate. Registration is now open, and you’d be bonkers not to.

Much like a good airline lounge, ATIA’s Pulse series has become a cherished space for industry insiders for timely insights, peer engagement, and the occasional policy zinger. Whether you’re perched at a single-location agency desk, juggling bookings across multiple branches, or selling the dream from your dining table as a home-based consultant, Pulse delivers tailored content to suit your business.

These aren’t your garden-variety Zoom calls either. They’re purpose-built sessions designed to share vital market intelligence, flag policy shifts, and – most importantly – give members a say in what ATIA does next. You won’t just hear the headlines; you’ll be helping to write them.

“Pulse gives our members a real-time connection to the conversations and decisions shaping our industry,” said Dean Long, ATIA’s Chief Executive Officer.

“It’s about making sure our members are informed, heard and equipped to respond to change. I encourage all ATIA Accredited members to register and make the most of this unique opportunity to stay engaged and connected with their community.”

Well said, Dean. And frankly, in an era of shifting sands (or shifting border regulations), who wouldn’t want to be ahead of the pack?

Thursday 17 July Pulse Meeting Times:

  • Independent Agents: 11 am

  • Tour Operators & Wholesalers: 1 pm

  • Mobile / Independent Contractors: 3 pm

Whether you’re selling Bali getaways or curating rail journeys across Europe, a tailored session can help you navigate the current travel terrain and potentially shape its future.

And for those who like to plan beyond next week (a novelty in travel, we know), more Pulse meetings are lined up for August, too. Pencil them in, or better yet, head to atia.travel/Events/ATIA-Pulse-Series and register now. It’s all happening faster than you can say “Qantas Frequent Flyer points.”

These sessions have already left their mark. Previous meetings were pivotal in shaping ATIA’s federal election priorities, offering members a seat at the table and a voice in the national conversation.

So, if you have views, concerns, or even a few cunning ideas on improving our sector, don’t just post them in a Facebook group. Bring them to Pulse. This is where industry chatter becomes action, advocacy begins, and your membership pays off.

Now, all that’s left is to set your reminder, prep the coffee, and click that registration link. We may not be able to predict the next travel curveball, but we’ll all be more prepared thanks to Pulse.
