Intrepid Travel, a world leader in responsible travel, has launched a new open-source industry guide demonstrating how its B Corp certification has translated into measurable business success.
The guide offers valuable insights for travel trade professionals looking to understand how purpose-led business practices can fuel growth, resilience, and customer trust.
The report highlights key areas where purpose creates profit, including governance, financial performance, brand reputation, strategic partnerships, and employee engagement. For example, 80% of Intrepid staff say the company’s purpose-driven initiatives are a key reason they stay engaged, a critical factor in managing risk and building long-term customer loyalty.
B Corp certification is recognised worldwide as a rigorous, independent benchmark for companies meeting high environmental, social, and governance standards. Since first becoming certified in 2018, Intrepid has continually raised the bar, achieving a record B Corp score of 102.5 in its 2025 recertification, up from 91.2 in 2021.
This reflects strengthened efforts in global employment equity, supplier diversity, community investment, and customer education.
Rochelle Turner, Intrepid’s Global B-Corp Impact Manager said: “At Intrepid, our purpose is as much about who we are and what we do as it is about why we exist, and becoming a B Corp has helped hold us accountable to always doing better. At the same time, it’s helped us unlock tangible benefits, from realising cost savings to attracting purpose-driven talent and deepening stakeholder trust.”
Intrepid reported record financial results in 2024, with revenue growing 17% to $626 million, and a $12.8 million employee bonus payout through its profit-sharing scheme, demonstrating the direct link between purpose and profitability.
This guide is the latest in its collection of free resources for the travel industry aimed at fostering greater levels of collaboration and knowledge-sharing on key sustainability issues.
