It’s not every day that a lounge membership comes with a breathwork coach, a meditation guide and mobility exercises – unless, of course, you’re a member of Priority Pass, who’ve just rolled out their latest wellness innovation like a neatly folded cashmere blanket.
The new offering, named TrvlWell – a name that’s either sleekly modern or missing its vowels on purpose – is a digital travel wellness companion now available exclusively to Priority Pass members. This comes courtesy of Collinson, the group behind the global lounge programme, which is clearly in tune with the times (and possibly your chakras).
Accessible via the Priority Pass app under the reassuringly holistic heading “Balance body and mind,” TrvlWell is designed to help travellers feel calm, collected and perhaps a little smug about their wellness habits as they board their next flight.
Gone are the days when wellness at the airport meant dodging a greasy breakfast roll or stretching your calves beside a confused group of passengers near Gate 47. With TrvlWell, members can now enjoy guided mobility sessions, mindful walking tracks, breathwork, meditation modules and more. Each program fits neatly into bite-sized modules like “Rest Easy,” “Feel Calm,” “Fly Well”, and “Stay Sharp.” In short, it’s the Marie Kondo of wellness, tidying up your travel-related stress.
And make no mistake – wellness is serious business. According to figures cited by Collinson, the global wellness economy is tipped to reach a stratospheric US$9 trillion by 2028, accounting for nearly 7% of global GDP. That’s a lot of zen.
Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International, was positively glowing about the launch. “At Priority Pass, we’re always looking for new ways to enhance our members’ travel experience at every stage of their journey,” he said. “With TrvlWell, we’re taking travel wellbeing and relaxation to the next level.”
Indeed, while some travel perks focus on champagne and leather recliners, TrvlWell is steering the conversation toward sleep quality, stress reduction and the ever-elusive art of staying upright after 14 hours in a cramped economy seat.
Todd Handcock, Collinson’s Global Chief Commercial Officer and Asia Pacific Executive Chair (try fitting that on a business card), pointed out that Asia Pacific is especially ripe for this kind of evolution. “Travel demand is experiencing robust growth in Asia Pacific, with passenger traffic expected to grow by 7.9% this year – the highest rate globally,” he noted. “Coupled with the wellness tourism market expected to hit over USD 200 billion by 2030, it’s clear that travellers are increasingly prioritising wellbeing.”
TrvlWell, then, is Priority Pass’s answer to the times – a thoughtful pivot from mere access to luxury lounges toward holistic, on-the-go wellness. And it’s not a one-and-done affair either. The company says more features are already in the pipeline, so members can expect their mindfulness menu to expand.
Priority Pass currently offers access to over 1,700 airport lounges and travel experiences across 145 countries, and now, with TrvlWell, they’re making a concerted effort to follow you out of the lounge and into the departure lounge of life. (Or at least your next cab to the hotel.)
And let’s be honest: with delayed flights, wailing toddlers and overpriced snack boxes being the usual airport fare, a bit of breathwork and guided zen might be the upgrade we didn’t know we needed.
So next time you’re staring down a four-hour layover in Kuala Lumpur or navigating the chaos of LAX, remember there’s a wellness guru in your pocket – and this one doesn’t insist on green juice or goat yoga—just a phone, a few minutes, and perhaps a desire to feel more human than herded.
