Spread the love

Photo credit DisneyThis weekend marked the beginning of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary since its opening in Anaheim. Over the year ahead, guests to Disneyland Resort in California will be able to experience limited-time entertainment, colourful décor, both nostalgic and celebratory food and beverages, as well as collectible merchandise throughout the resort. Themed “Celebrate Happy,” the festivities include the return of the beloved Paint the Night parade, the debut of the new World of Color Happiness! nighttime spectacular, and Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade, as well as enchanting extras, including A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour at Disneyland Resort with bookings now available for dates up to 13 July. Guests can “celebrate happy” across two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park), Downtown Disney District, and three hotels (Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and recently renovated Pixar Place Hotel). For a limited time, Australians seeking a winter escape can visit the Disneyland Resort for as low as US$100 per day with a 4-day, 1-park per day ticket, or as low as US$120 per day with a 3-day, 1-park per day ticket, valid through to 14 August 2025.

California’s original theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm, will also be celebrating 105 years this year, with five seasons of fun throughout 2025, including an interactive Ghost Town Alive! Experience this summer, followed by Knott’s Scary Farm late September and throughout October and Knott’s Merry Farm for the holiday season. Its long-time residents Snoopy, Charline Brown and the PEANUTS™ characters turn 75 in 2025, with the comic strip originally published in 1950, who can be seen at character meet & greets throughout the year at Knott’s Berry Farm’s Camp Snoopy.

JW Marriott Anaheim Resort, and The Viv Hotel Anaheim will both mark five years since opening their doors this year. Bringing rooftop bars, expanded dining, and luxury accommodation offerings, these properties have changed the landscape of Anaheim’s accommodation options for international visitors.

Anaheim’s events calendar continues to strengthen this year and beyond with the return of VidCon Anaheim, the world’s largest celebration of digital content creation, 19-21 June 2025. Returning events in 2026 include BlizzCon and WonderCon. Blizzard Entertainment has announced the return of BlizzCon to Anaheim on 12–13 September 2026. This marks the first in-person BlizzCon since 2023 following a two-year hiatus. The event will feature in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, and hands-on gameplay. With new expansions for Diablo 4, ongoing development for Overwatch 2 and Hearthstone, and updates to World of Warcraft, gaming fans from around the globe can expect exciting content and experiences. WonderCon, the annual comic book, science fiction, and film convention, will return to Anaheim 27–29 March 2026. Held at the Anaheim Convention Center, the event will feature panels, artist alleys, cosplay, and more, bringing together fans of all ages to celebrate pop culture.
