In a bold move poised to redefine aviation in Southeast Asia, PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa) has announced the launch of its highly anticipated international route connecting Bali, Indonesia, to Perth, Australia. This game-changing initiative is set to commence operations on March 20, 2025, with ticket sales already in full swing as of January 15.
A New Era in Travel
The Bali-Perth route marks a significant milestone for TransNusa, signalling its commitment to expanding its footprint in the global aviation market. “The Bali-Perth route is a golden opportunity,” stated Datuk Bernard Francis, Group CEO of TransNusa. “Perth consistently ranks as one of Bali’s top tourism sources, and demand for this route has always been robust.”
Tickets are available starting from IDR 1,799,000 (approximately AUD 169, USD 163, or CNY 782). Travelers can secure their seats through TransNusa’s official website, transnusa.co.id, or via trusted online travel agents.
Strategic Flight Schedule
The new service will initially operate three times weekly—Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. From April 12, an additional Tuesday flight will be introduced, with daily services launching on June 1, 2025.
- Flight 8B 080 (DPS-PER): Departs Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 9:10 AM, arriving in Perth at 12:50 PM.
- Flight 8B 081 (PER-DPS): Departs Perth at 1:35 PM, arriving in Bali at 5:20 PM.
The route will be serviced by TransNusa’s Airbus A320, configured to accommodate 174 passengers and ensure a comfortable journey across the 3-hour-40-minute flight duration.
Premium Service, Competitive Pricing
TransNusa aims to set new standards by offering a unique blend of affordability and luxury. The airline caters to diverse traveller needs with product bundles like SEAT, SEAT-PLUS, and FLEXI-PRO. FLEXI-PRO passengers enjoy exclusive benefits, including:
- 30 kg of check-in baggage (plus 7 kg hand carry allowance)
- Priority check-in and boarding
- Complimentary meals and beverages
- Free seat selection
- Unlimited flight schedule changes and refund options
“Our goal is to provide passengers with a premium experience at competitive prices,” emphasized Datuk Bernard. “We’re breaking barriers to make luxury accessible.”
Expanding Horizons
Beyond Bali-Perth, TransNusa directly connects Bali to Indonesia’s diving paradise, Manado. This opens new opportunities for Australian tourists to explore additional destinations seamlessly.
Resilience and Growth
TransNusa’s journey is a testament to resilience and innovation. After halting operations in September 2020 due to the pandemic, the airline was revitalized under new management led by aviation veteran Datuk Bernard Francis. TransNusa re-launched in October 2022, and within months, it established its first international route between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. By 2024, the airline had introduced three more international routes and emerged as one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing carriers.
Redefining Indonesian Aviation
TransNusa is not just an airline; it’s a disruptor in the aviation industry. The airline has consistently pushed boundaries from pioneering domestic routes like Bali-Manado to becoming the second Indonesian carrier authorized to fly to China. Its growth reflects a commitment to enhancing connectivity, affordability, and customer satisfaction.
The Road Ahead
As TransNusa prepares to launch daily services on its Bali-Perth route by mid-2025, it’s clear that the airline is poised for sustained success. With its innovative strategies and customer-focused approach, TransNusa is not just meeting demand—it’s creating new possibilities in air travel.
