Wonderful Indonesia Buffet @TheOrchardThis season, The Orchard Cafe at Orchard Hotel Singapore is proud to announce its inaugural collaboration with the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore and Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta, celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Indonesia from East to West. From 7 October to 15 November 2024, The Orchard Cafe will take guests on a culinary journey through its Wonderful Indonesia Buffet, featuring unlimited servings of authentic Indonesian dishes and chef specialties. Food will be served from the Halal-Certified kitchen. To mark this special occasion, a 50% discount will be offered for the second diner throughout the promotion period.

The Wonderful Indonesia Buffet showcases a spectacular array of dishes that blend refined artistry with bold flavors, paying homage to Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage. Guests can indulge in time-honoured recipes passed down through generations, from the spiciness of Balado to the comforting richness of Semur. Signature dishes include Taliwang, a spicy grilled chicken infused with aromatic flavours, originating from Lombok, and Semur Daging, a sweet and savory soy-based beef stew slow-cooked with spices, reflecting Dutch influences. Other specialties feature the irresistible charcoal-grilled Sotong Bakar, with its smoky, tangy, and spicy flavors, and Lamb Tongseng, a Javanese specialty of tender lamb simmered in a rich coconut broth, enhanced with lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves.

Esteemed guest chefs Heri Suryanto and Adi Kasatrio from Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta bring their expertise in authentic Indonesian cuisine. Award-winning Chef Heri is renowned for his mastery of Makassar specialties, while Chef Adi, born and raised in Jakarta, is celebrated for delivering authentic flavors rooted in Indonesia’s rich culinary traditions.

Alongside them are our local chefs, including Executive Chef Thenesh Murugaya and our Muslim chefs, whose contributions highlight the spirit of cross-cultural exchange.  “In addition to the Indonesian dishes, we are excited to offer a selection of Singaporean favorites. This blend of both cultures aims to deepen the connection between our nations through food, promoting a shared appreciation of our culinary heritage,” says Executive Chef Thenesh Murugaya.
