Plaza Premium Group (PPG), the leading global airport hospitality services provider, has announced sponsorship for the upcoming “Three-Runway System 10km International Race” at the Hong Kong International Airport. The event, co-presented by title sponsors Airport Authority Hong Kong and Standard Chartered Hong Kong, and organized by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates, will be held on 17th November 2024. This special edition of the Standard Chartered HK Marathon will take place on the airport’s Centre Runway, offering participants a once-in-a-lifetime experience to race on the 3,800-metre-long runway before Hong Kong International Airport officially transitions to a three-runway system.
The event will be the second time the airport has hosted a race on its runway. 26 years ago, when Hong Kong International Airport was inaugurated, the “Standard Chartered ’98 New Airport Marathon” was a milestone event at the airport’s runway. In that same year, Plaza Premium Group also began its journey in 1998 at the Hong Kong International Airport with the launch of Plaza Premium Lounge – the world’s first intendent airport lounge. This race will mark another milestone shared with Airport Authority Hong Kong.
Supporting this event reinforces PPG’s commitment to promote health and wellness within the community as part of its overall social impact initiative. It also serves as a great opportunity for the airport community and the teams to connect through sports. Leading the race for “Team PPG” will be Jonathan Song, Chief Commercial Officer.

To promote Hong Kong sporting events on the global stage, PPG is currently recruiting participants from around the world. To ensure the needs of the international runners are taken care of, the group is offering an all-inclusive airport experience from arrival to departure at a special rate, so they can focus on the race.
Upon arrival, the “ALLWAYS” team will meet and assist the runners through the courtesy channel, baggage, and security clearance. As they return home after their race, runners can relax in the “Infinity Room” at Plaza Premium First, offering luxury, privacy, and personalized services for the indulgence and tranquility they need. Showers and massage services are also available. The culinary team has curated a special menu featuring nutritious dishes tailored to meet the post-race nutritional needs, helping runners to regain and boost their energy levels.
