Grain Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, whose lively barmen are known for their innovative approach to mixology, last week transformed for the unveiling of ‘A New Matrix of Greatness’ as they hosted the launch of INITIO Parfums Privés latest fragrance.

INITIO, whose attitude to perfumery delves into the masterful power of scent announced Oud For Greatness, NEO Eau de Parfum. The scent takes its inspiration from the name, NEO, meaning new or modern- a fresh blend of Bergamot, Balsam Fur and Lavender, that uplifts energy and strengthens the mind to boost confidence.

For the premium crowd of attendees including luxury editors, media personalities, influencers and industry executives, their official Initiation begun from the moment of arrival, on Four Seasons Hotel Sydney’s iconic front driveway, with a mysterious, white-gloved hand emerging from the hotels porte-cochere authorising their entry into Grain Bar.

Guests entered to Grain Bar’s signature wood-grained and warm atmosphere upended by a web of neon green lights, black furnishings and wall coverings with gilded gold accents. Entertainment for the night including the bedazzled spectacle of a live contortionist, and trendy DJ.

To compliment the edgy ambiance, Grain Bar’s mixology maestros crafted a bespoke menu of on-theme libations, shockingly green and inspired by the fragrance notes of NEO— the  Drizzling Forest, blending Gin, Lychee, Bergamot & Tonic and Valley of Flower with Vodka, Elderflower, Lavender, Cucumber and Mint, the standouts.

Four Seasons Hotel Sydney Chefs, who have recently collaborated on exclusive projects with the likes of Balenciaga and Parfum de Marley, also brough their unique flavour to the event, serving a selection of roving colour coordinated canapes including bite-sized, Tuna Tartare with Puffed Tapioca, Tasmanian Pepperberry and Goats Cheese Charcoal Cones and delectable Salt & Pepper Quail ‘Tulips’.

As of 12 July, Grain Bar has also been shortlisted as a Finalist in the Australian Bartender Magazine 2024 Australian Bar Awards for Hotel Bar of the Year, winners to be announced on 11 September 2024.
