The leisure airline is now offering its Economy Class guests on short and medium-haul flights the option of pre-ordering a premium menu. The menu – breakfast, lunch or dinner, depending on the time of day – is served on porcelain tableware. Discover Airlines attaches particular importance to minimizing the use of plastic and disposable materials. Guests can choose between meat and a vegetarian option and book the menu up to 72 hours before departure via the Discover Airlines website from 16 EURO*.

“Treating yourself is part of the best time of the year. That’s why we’re delighted to offer our Economy Class guests on short and medium-haul routes the opportunity to order a premium menu in advance,” says Patrick Door, responsible for the onboard product at Discover Airlines.

As in the past, travelers can also choose from five different dishes in the onboard bar during the flight, including hot and cold dishes, sandwiches and a kids’ snack. Travelers who order before departure will receive a 10% discount, helping the airline to achieve its goal of minimizing food waste.

The reduction of waste has always played an important role for Discover Airlines. The leisure airline has used an AI-controlled loading system on short and medium-haul flights ever since, which delivers the right amount on board based on parameters such as time of day, route and previous consumption behavior. This helps to minimize food waste and at the same time optimally meet the needs of passengers.
