Leading independent live music promoter Donnie Estopinal and Dallas entertainment entrepreneur Patrick Tetrick announce the grand opening of SILO Dallas, a new, state-of-the-art, multi-use event space. This historic venue will attract world-class events and globally-renowned music talent to a reimagined facility in the city’s celebrated Design District. SILO Dallas promises eclectic events that will showcase its innovation and versatility while energizing the city’s arts and entertainment scene.
Key Features and Impact:
During the three years of plan development and renovation, partners Donnie Estopinal and Patrick Tetrick meticulously preserved the building’s historical structural integrity while integrating cutting-edge entertainment technology. The building’s sense of space and grandeur, highlighted by 40-foot ceilings, were key to the transformation. Johnson Grain Company’s Delmo Johnson built the concrete landmark in 1959 to serve as a major grain storage facility, but in its later years he dreamed of it becoming a cultural hub.
The 30,000 square-foot modular space will be an incredible entertainment experience for up to 3,145 guests. The audio is powered by over 100,000 watts of D&B sound system paired with various acoustical solutions. The dance floor is designed for optimal sound and feel, while the lighting and national size stage (40×30 feet) are set to impress. Overall environmental comfort is controlled by a technologically advanced HVAC system to ensure comfort for all attendees.
SILO Dallas’s multiple, scalable configurations make it an attractive destination for a variety of gatherings. The venue is expected to bolster the local economy by attracting diverse events and visitors, increasing spending in the district, and further enhancing the cultural vibrancy of the Design District.
Donnie Estopinal explains, “We have a fan community who is hungry for live entertainment all of the time. Even with the success of our major festivals like Lights All Night, Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival, Ubbi Dubbi, and So What?!, we haven’t had a venue in Dallas that we can control and can call home. Silo solves that.”
Community and Economic Contributions:
Estopinal has had over 30 years of experience producing regional music events, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to community support and philanthropy, generating over $1 billion in economic impact and $2 million in charitable donations to local nonprofits. Estopinal is known for successful events at venues like the Texas State Fair and Dallas Convention Center. He plans to continue this tradition with SILO Dallas, projecting millions in economic impact and numerous job opportunities within its first year.
Cultural Hub and Innovation:
Under the leadership of Estopinal and Tetrick, SILO invites Dallas residents and visitors to experience industrial elegance and world-class talent. Located near luxury hotels and the vibrant businesses of the Design District, SILO fulfills Johnson’s 1987 vision of creating a cultural hub for the city. It aims to elevate the Design District’s and Dallas’ profiles on the global arts and culture map. SILO’s eco-sensitive renovation preserved vintage design elements while incorporating state-of-the-art sound, light, and video systems, ensuring a perfect blend of history and innovation.
Patrick Tetrick, reflecting on the building’s original state, said, “We found the only building in Dallas that had no parking lot, no roof, no electrical, no plumbing, no HVAC – and it’s kind of on Holy Ground. The community’s response to our vision has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to making SILO Dallas a key player in the city’s cultural and economic landscape.”
Upcoming Events and Partnerships:
The venue will host a series of high-profile events this fall, igniting opening nights with legendary DJ Tiësto on September 19 and 20, superstar DJs Sasha & John Digweed on September 28, Above & Beyond’s premier record label Anjunabeats showcase on October 10 and James Hype on November 1.  These shows are just the start of a robust and eclectic calendar, designed to elevate the arts and entertainment scene in Dallas.
