Australasia’s premium global rail wholesaler, International Rail, has further strengthened its reputation as an innovator in rail sales with the launch of a new service, by becoming the first Australian specialist to offer e-tickets for Japanese point-to-point rail tickets to the trade.
With this new System, travellers can easily purchase and receive point-to-point Japan Rail e-tickets prior to their departure from Australia, enhancing the convenience of their Japan holiday experience.
This marks a substantial leap forward in our industry, previously tickets in Japan needed to be sent to their clients’ accommodation, says owner and managing director, Jonathan Hume.
Hume remarked, “This development is a game-changer for our business, our dedicated travel advisors, and their clients travelling to Japan. It represents the first instance where travellers can enjoy the advantages of electronic tickets, complete with pre-reserved seating and effortless access to trains. Given Japan’s continued popularity as a travel destination, it’s essential for agents to secure seats in advance for their clients, and this solution empowers them to do just that.”
To celebrate the launch, International Rail is offering a special promotion to agents, book any Shinkansen (bullet train) service to or from Tokyo between October 11 and December 01, 2023, and your clients will receive a complimentary 24-hour Tokyo Subway ticket. This offer is valid for travel through to the end of 2023, and is limited to one per person, per booking.
Japan Rail Pass prices increased for the first time in over 10 years by more than 60% on October 01 this year. Although they can still be good value for money if clients are planning long distance travel across multiple cities in Japan for a duration of time, for those with shorter itineraries covering less ground, point-to-point tickets will generally be more economical.
Highlighting the convenience of International Rail as a one-stop solution for agents, the company has also introduced Tokyo and Osaka metro cards and airport rail transfers from Narita and Osaka, assisting in a seamless transition to their accommodation.
