Spread the love

Venus Retrograde is upon us, marking no better time to turn to the stars for guidance. According to global travel site Skyscanner, most Aussies will be doing just that, with new research* revealing a whopping 52% of the country believes in astrology, and over one-quarter (27%) is so certain of the stars they’re prepared to pin their travels on them.

Whether it’s considering how much planning needs to be involved (lots, if you’re a Taurus) or which star signs are most compatible to travel with, astrology can be a useful tool in travel planning.

Skyscanner shares just how astrology can impact our travels:

Love on location: While over a third of Aussies have found love abroad based on the research, chances are they were a Leo or Gemini, who are revealed to be the most likely of the signs to find romance while travelling.

Aquarius and Libra appear to be the most committed, as the most likely to find a long-term lover, while passionate Aries are the ones to enjoy a short-term fling. For Aussies looking for love overseas, perhaps avoid a Taurus, the sign most likely to love you and leave you shortly after touching down on home soil.

So where are the most romantic locations for those looking for love? Skyscanner recommends the romantic beaches of Fiji which you can snap up from Sydney to Nadi for $536

Friends or foe: While Aquarius might be most likely to find love abroad, they’re the least likely to make friends, so those looking for a sociable holiday are probably best to avoid this sign. Instead seek out Pisces or Capricorns, the signs that make and keep their traveller friends for life. In fact, 83% of Pisces respondents have made friends abroad, compared to just 29% of Aquarians.

If you’re wanting to travel with friends on your next trip why not try back-backing with friends around Vietnam? From Perth to Ho Chi Minh City for $489

Go with the flow: We all want a travel partner who can be spontaneous and easy going, so Skyscanner recommends finding a Cancer to pack your bags with – 47% of Cancers surveyed are most likely to go with the flow when it comes to travel. You might want to avoid headstrong Taurus though, who prefers to plan ahead.

For those with a spontaneous streak, Skyscanner recommends using its ‘Everywhere’ search function and seeing where you end up next! Explore the bustling city of Singapore (From Perth for $460) or Siem Reap in Cambodia (From Perth for $549) for its ancient temples such as Ta Prohm Temple, which was featured in the 2000 film Tomb Raider.

Skyscanner travel expert Jarrod Kris says Skyscanner has a tool for every type of travel.

“Looking through the lens of astrology is a great way to think outside the box when planning travels,” says Kris.

“Monitoring our zodiac signs can help tailor our holidays to our personalities, creating a bespoke experience sure to create memories to last a lifetime.

“Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway with their partner, a fun group trip with best mates, or a new adventure, Skyscanner’s range of features can help travellers book the best holiday for their sign and save on their travels.”

Rather than daydreaming of what could be, now is the time for Aussies to act and start planning their next holiday. Let the stars, and Skyscanner, guide the way.
